So I was excited about Supreme Commander and a couple of other RTS that were or have come out recently until I played the demos and was promptly bored.
It's not that I don't think they are good, I really love strategic command but I hate waiting around for stuff to happen like building an army. I'd rather just have my army to start like in Ground Control. Sorta sad to say but I guess I am an instant gratification person who loves CS:S and Rainbow Six: Vegas. And it's not like those have instant gratification you need to play a lot to be good but it's instant when you get a kill or even die and come right back and kill them.
I think that First Person shooters are the essence of what I love about games, they are the depth level you want to play at any moment and at the same time challanging and easy. You can play all hardcore and use clan tactics or just run around with triple barrel rocket launchers shooting people in half.
Oh well, I really wanted to like some of those games but I can't validate spending an hour building an army up to attack one person when I can play against hundreds online in FPS or Coop some tango's in R6.
