Though skateboarding is an American invention and Tony Hawk Pro Skater for the Playstation is one of the biggest games in US history, the world record holder is not an american but Domagoj Broj of Zagreb, Croatia, who scored 1,943,543 points on the Warehouse track on Augest 9, 2002.

MOST SUCCESSFUL VIDEO-GAME HERO
Mario, a computer generated Plummer ( in the book it says carpenter but i know that is a mistake so i changed it) created by Shigiru Miyamoto, first made an appearance under that name in Nintendo's Game & Watch version of Donkey Kong in 1982. To date, Mario has been featured in at least 125 video games that, combined , have sold nearly 200million copies worldwide.

LARGEST VIDEO GAME CONTEST
In 1984, the children's charity March of Dimes International and video game manufacturer Konami/Centuri sponsored the Track & Field Challenge. Conducted simultaneously in North America, Germany, and Japan between April 30 and May 19, the event saw more than 1 million registered contestants competing in the USA alone. The top tree US finalists traveled to Japan to face the Japanese and German champs in the finals on June 12, and the final world champ was 18 year old accordion player John Phillip Britt of Riverside, California, USA.

FIRST NATIONAL PINBALL CHAMPIONSHIP
A "Big Whiffle Tournament"- whiffle being considered the first pinball machine- was held between May 24 and 25, 1935, in the Futuristic Ballroom in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA, and attracted hundred of pinball players from all accross the US. It featured 200 whiffle pinball tables and promised $1,000 in prizes (includeing a fine bedroom suite). The event was conducted as a charity for the Badger State Advancement Association of the Blind, and certain whiffles were adapted to allow blind teams to compete in the event.

LARGEST JOYPAD
A video game joypad measuring 8ft wide and weighing around 150lbs was built by a team led by David Randolph and David Ledger US. It was unveiled on March 28, 2005 on the TV show Attack of the Show (G4, US) as a fully funcional, scaled up replica of an origanal Nintendo Entertainment System or NES joypad.

LARGEST VIRTUAL FUNERAL
In October 2005, an avid computer gamer know only as Snowly indulged in a tree day nonstop marathon of the MMORPG ( massively multiplayer online role playing game) World of Warcraft and died of fatigue. Over 100 gamers visited a virtual cathedral inside the game, where a sevise was held for her. MMORPG manufacturers are being urged to add tree hour "anti obsession" breaks in their games.

HIGHEST SCORE ON DOOM 3 (PC)
With skill level set at Marine, 19 year old engineering student Jerome Bouzillard set a time of 1 hr 30 min 52 sec to complete Doom 3 on his laptop. This record was verified by Twin Galaxies reviewing an AVI (Audio Video Interleave) computer file; however, it cannot be checked for for "concatention" ( that is, it cannot be garanteed that the game was played in one continuos attempt).
