Could someone please do a video of Steve Race taking the podium and just say "699" then leave just to come back and say to the mic "no disc drive" then leave for good?
@just1mohr: It´s not free, I´m paying a monthly fee just as any other streaming service that may offer great shows and also bulk crap. And I decide if the show is worth my time or if it´s something mediocre that I should not waste my time in. I love collecting UHD movies but it´s getting harder to buy them if not for Amazon and people would rather stream the movie rather than own it, so maybe the film industry is doomed to produce mediocre movies because people rather rent them instead of buying them?
Not every game is a hidden gem waiting to be discovered. If you decide to make mediocre, lower quality crap I may grant you the time for installing it, playing for five minutes and uninstall it after assuring myself to never take a second look to the next game developed by that studio.
It´s kind of strange that the decades old concept of people waiting for a sale to buy games or playing free games is not a given for you as a developer.
I don´t know how my gaming habits, which I emphasized to be my individual take as much as you emphasize 'incentivize', refrain you from developing your games outside the xbox ecosystem where you are not binded by the evils of Game Pass.
Don´t hinder your projects with those thoughts, always give your creations the best you can offer.
@Kyizen: I own almost 1500+ between physical and digital editions spread between several console generations. I always "had to have" a game on the day of its release even if I wasn´t planning to play it right away. So I paid full price for hundreds of titles that eventually would be able to be acquired for a fraction of what I paid for. (You reminded me that I still have a copy of Persona 3 for the PS2 sealed).
Renting the game saves me hundreds of dollars and if I ever decide to play a title again , I rarely do, I will surely find it dirt cheap.
The only games I buy are the ones that I suspect won´t be on game Pass, like Elden Ring...I´m still hoping for Dragon´s Dogma 2. But more often than not, I end up buying a game that after a short time is announced for Game Pass.
I´m sure plenty of people differ and that´s ok, but after considering the money I have invested in video games through the years I find Game Pass to be the best cost-benefit option.
@olddadgamer: What may be next are price increases. If you have more tiers to choose from you may get something that suits your needs. I don´t see backtracking since day one releases are still on the table.
The only info missing here is: Ok, no day one releases but will these releases appear eventually in the lower tiers? How long after?
I can´t speak for anyone but myself but looking at the games I have played and finished so far 2024, the titles I play on and off and planning to play (Octopath 2, Persona 3, Persona 5 Tactics, Lords of the Fallen) and think on how much I would´ve spent buying them instead of "renting" them, GP Ultimate is still a hell of a deal even if I have to pay $3 more.
I have around 30+ physical and digital games that I bought and paid for between $5 and $60 USD that eventually became available on Game Pass. I bought some PS5 games that "surely won´t be on Game Pass anytime soon". They eventually appeared on Game Pass.
I refrained myself from buying a lot of games yet having not enough time to play everything I want to that is offered on Game Pass.
NOBODY likes price increases but, in my situation, Game Pass is nothing but amazing.
Besides, using the MS Rewards points I can get Ultimate every other month.
