Happy Holidays

Oh the Holidays, a cold and gloomy time of the year that we use as a time to get together with friends and family and give the gift of love. I suppose we do need these glamorized rituals and ideas of the holiday season to get through the terrible weather and the inertia this tends to ensue. As for me? Well, I am surviving; getting through the days and hope to use these few weeks off to get some fun stuff done like watching some films I've been sitting on for a while, playing some video games and finish up a book and then write an essay on it for class. I am going back to California on the 29th to my fathers' house for New Years Eve so that should be a good time to finish up on my work, though I probably won't given my chronic procrastination. A few of my cousins and other relatives are coming over from Brazil and from other places around the US to celebrate Christmas and it's always great to have family over because it makes this big empty home vibrant and filled with cheery people making for a rather calming time. I suppose because Christmas has never lived up to my crazy standards when I was a kid it made me rather bitter and cynical about the time of the year and I take for granted some of the sincerity friends and family have to come together and try to make it an enjoyable time of the year for everyone when they can easily spend those days of relaxation to themselves. With all the commercialism, religious, historical and political influences of the holiday season; it's easy to lose focus of things, but whatever it all means, I just hope to savor the moments because they won't last forever.

Well, if you actually spent your time reading my whiny rambling of a blog you deserve this more than anyone: Happy Holidays everybody.

On Leave

As some of you may know, I am leaving to California today and for the next week I will very rarely be online (if at all) I know a little part of you may have died inside, but we will get through it! I have been thinking about taking a portable DVD player with me to watch on the plane, but the battery runs out quite quick and the sound of engine will cancel out quite a bit of dialogue, luckily, I still have my trusty Ipod Shuffle to get me through the plane ride! I should be staying in the bay area, close to San Fransisco. This happen rather sudden so I am unaware of what I will be doing on this trip, but it's always great to go places and try something new. Now, before I leave on the trip, I bought some great films from the Barnes and Noble 50% off Criterion Collection sale, unfortunately, I won't be able to watch them until a little after I come back from my trip. Here are the films I got!

Fritz Lang's early sound Masterpiece M.

Roman Polanski's Second Film and first in the 'Apartment Trilogy' Repulsion.

John Ford's 1938 Film Stagecoach.

Well, I should cut this short because I am leaving now! Goodbye all and have a pleasant day!

Oh Comely

Okay, it looks like I have been "tagged" by the great chessmaster1989. Though I feel a little honored in a Internet fad kind of way, I feel a little awkward, for I know that a lot of people here who are into metal and all of that stuff and my Itunes is lacking on bands and artists so this might be a little redudant. Nevertheless, I have been tagged and must fufill my Gamespot duties, though I will not give as colorful of commentary as Mister chessmaster, for I am a boring person, but we shall go through with it! Here are the rules that have been laid on me:

  1. "Put Your iTunes (or other music player) on Shuffle.
  2. For each question, press the next button to get your answer.
  3. You must write down the name of the song no matter how silly it sounds!
  4. Put any comments in brackets after the song name.
  5. Tag at least 10 friends.6. Anyone tagged has to do the same, because fun pointlessness spreads like a virus."

Let's Begin!

1.If someone says, "Is this okay?" You say

Richard II (Titus Andronicus)

2. How would you describe yourself?

Closer (Nine Inch Nails) (Hmmmm)

3.What do you like in a guy/girl?

6.What is your motto?

Of Moons, Birds & Monsters (MGMT)(I like it, that is now my motto!)

7.What do your friends think of you?

Better Times (Beach House) (It was the best of times, it was the worst of times. I suppose)

8.What do you think of your parents?

Im Bann (Pantha Du Prince) (I hope that means something good in German)

9.What do you think about very often?

Real Love (Beach House) (That is absolutely correct! Kinda scary, actually)

10.What is 2 + 2?

Venus and Serena (Super Furry Animals) (Well, it actually equals 4, but if they're playing doubles that would equal 4 contestants. :P)

11.What do you think of your best friend?

Crown of Love (Arcade Fire) (errr....:?)

12.What do you think of the person you like?

Why do you Get all the Love in the World? (Nine Inch Nails) (Deep, in a melodramatic teen kind of way.)

13.What is your life story?

At Least it's Not the End of the World (Supper Furry Animals) ( )

14.What do you want to be when you grow up?

The Beginning (Nine Inch Nails) (Well, you, see... Forget it)

15.What do you think of when you see the person you like?

A Four Score and Seven (Titus Andrnicus) (I think the Gettysburg address is the last thing I would think of. :P)

16.What will you dance to at your wedding?

There is a Light that Never Goes Out (The Smiths) (You Never know. :P)

17.What will they play at your funeral?

Big Man with a Gun (Nine Inch Nails) (:lol: )

18.What is your hobby/interest?

20.What is your biggest secret?

Everything in its Right Place (Radiohead) (It's true! )

21.What do you think of your friends?

Lover of Mine (Beach House)(I suppose you could say that....)

22.What will you put as the title?

Oh Comely (Neutral Milk Hotel)

Well, it was fun while it lasted....

Blogy blog

You know, I haven't had one of these little blogs for a while. though I have nothing to write about and not having any skill in writing, I will still give a little update. The month is May. School year ends in the first week of June for me which I have switched to a charter school in the middle of the year that focuses on Film and digital media with also a touch of music, though no one here cares about any of the mediums the school is much different from public schools so people like to run there with hope of freedom and a better life. In my film productions class we are shooting a film in This is the place. Reason being because it has a nice little looking area that is great for a period piece. I have been assigned director of photography, though this class project is not anything I am caring for. In the Summer if all things go right, I should be shooting a film with the equipment from a place called 'spyhop' I would have all control of it because my Film teacher was actually rather interested in my ideas when we were suppose to pitch an idea to shoot the little project in This is the Place.

But in other news This is the month of May and it's the month of birthday. The day will be the 31st of the month and I will be turning 16! Woo! I am not sure what I should be doing, but since a lot of great things are coming out, I can use my birthday as an excuse to squeeze some things I want out of my relatives and friends alike. The month of May is big in the Video Game world (so I heard) with things like Super Mario Galaxy 2 and Red Dead Redemption being released. Shockingly enough I am very interested in getting a game and that being Red Dead Redemption. I love the Western asethics the game seems to have in a open world game by RockStar, from the games I have played by them they seem to have a nice cinematic touch to their games so I think I should love it. That is not what I want though. Some films are coming out this month that I am very interested in getting and one that has come to my attention would be The Road which I have been wanting to see for a while. But yeah, I really don't have much more to ramble on about so, yeah. I might make another short blog on me birthday. Goodnight everybody!

Merry Christmas

I, Jazz_Fan would like to wish you all Merry Christmas, yeah I know I am a day late but I mainly making this blog as a little update. I am going back to Chicago again on News Year eve because my Cousin got a blood clot in her eye and the doctor said it might be leukemia or some other form of cancer, I am very worried about that. On a much lighter note I got a lot of films this year.

I also got Alfred Hitchcock's Spellbound but I cannot find a picture of that, well I would like again to wish you all a safe and happy holidays. Good night everybody.....

Might not be on for a little bit.

I am not going to be on-line for.... I don't know how long. I went to the doctor today and I seem to have Meningitis. It is hard enough to type this up. To top it off the heater in the house is broken so I have about 4 blankets right now. So yeah I might not be on-line until further notice....

It has been brought to my attention that on Xbox live there is an update where you can have a party (up to 7 people) and watch a movie threw netflix, so I was thinking if you're interested please leave your Gamertag and vote for which movie we should watch. the date is set for September 27th 5 PM mountain standard time.

You will need an Xbox 360 with live gold subsctiption and also a subsctiption to Netflix. I recommend you have a headset so we could talk during and after the movie. So without further a due here are the movies to vote for!

Why I'm not online anymore

So of you might be wondering "Gee where is Jazz_Fan that person who has no significance in my life has been recentley?" Well I tell where I've been nowhere. That's right, I have no internet thats why I'm not online as much the only internet access I have is threw my local library which I'm only allowed 30 minutes day. So when I'm on the internet Gamespot isn't really my first priority and when I am on gamespot I very rarely feel the need to log in. So I just browse around. Well thats why I'm not online goodnight everybody!
