To be honest, I would prefer it NOT to get blu-ray. I have a blu-ray player for that. Yes, I know that it gives you more disk space, etc. etc. but it would add to the initial cost of a new next gen console, and I would prefer to swap disks over paying additional costs for the new console.

- Weapons are like the ones in Mass Effect 2, have a set list
- Mods returning, swap out different parts such as barrels, scopes (effect both the weapon's combat performance and its appearance)

What does Playstation's popularity (how ever you take that to be) have to do with the state of RPGs?
In any case, Mass Effect series, Dragon Age, Fable series, Final Fantasy series, Fallout series (among others) says that the genre is far FAR from deaths door.
SSF4, MvC3, MK9, Tekken 6, and BlazBlue would also speak well of the health of fighters.
PLENTY.
Nintendo: Platformers and Puzzle
Playstation: RPG's and Fighting
Xbox: Shooters and Racing
I will have to disagree somewhat... My favorite genre hands down are RPGs (Not Jrpgs, but Wrpgs) and I get a very nice sampling of them on my 360. More than enough to keep me happy. Probably more RPGs on the 360 than the PS3, or at least, their were at one point...okay so i saw the bungie trailer and during the trailer it says MOST ANTICIPATED GAME OF 2010
say for instance black ops or starcraft 2 outsell reach? were they lying or misleading in the advert?
When you say you are the most anticipated title that means you have the most pre orders and games going to be sold that year
imo if bungie does not get the top #1 sales for 2010 it's adverts should be banned from TV calling it the most anticipated title of all 2010
now i mean only bungie makes these outrageous claims so i really dunno if their telling the truth or lying but will this game be the most anticipated?? and its only for one system too i just don't see that making much sense
First, its a marketing ploy, and Microsoft is one of the best in the field at marketing their big guns. Second, it definitely would fit in the category of being ONE of the most anticipated games of 2010, irregardless of console or platform. When its all said and done, I can assure you that it will be one of the biggest selling games of 2010, if not THE biggest selling game. What does Playstation's popularity (how ever you take that to be) have to do with the state of RPGs?

This sums it up well. Personally, I cant say from the fighting game stance, since I dont play them... but RPGs are doing VERY well, and it is... and will remain... my favorite genre. It wont be going anywhere, trust me.They are considered to be the big names for the X360. Each a phenomenon. They are the two series every one rushes out to get. But I want to know what other people think is the better series?
I own and lovethem both and I say that Mass Effect is No.1 Halo is very linear in story and exploration where as Mass Effect gives you the freedom to explore on your own and be who you want to be. There is nothing wrong with a linear game as I really do love Halo but Mass Effect tops it!
You are asking alot here, lol... I dearly love both franchises, however I would choose Mass Effect without a thought IF I had to choose. But why should we choose? One is an FPS, the other an RPG.... Personally, I am just ecstatic to have both!!!! :) Yeah but the way bioware is going -- Mass Effect will have no rpg elements left by the third game... With the rumors of multiplayer, them taking away rpg elements because apparently the xbox crowd loves twitch based shooters more then stats, gear, loot and character development.. expect ME3 to be even more watered down away from its roots and again hard core lemmings will cheer it on and ignore that it is no longer a rpg... So in a sense the two games me2 and halo can and will be comparable. Yeah, we have similar fears with the third one. I keep telling myself to have faith in Bioware, and hopefully our fears for the third game will be for nothing. :)[QUOTE="babybinky"]
wow, people responding in this thread are sooo ignorant and rude...
1.) i never mentioned the wii, so whoever said "failed topic" is stupid.
2.) im talking about the future... sure, now xbox 360 is competing with the PS3... the 360 is keeping up with the ps3's graphics. but IN THE FUTURE PS3 will have better graphics that the 360 won' be able to handle.
3.) PS move looks amazing, its made for casual/hardcore gamers. its accurate and responsive and im sure IN THE FUTURE we'll see developers making amazing games for it. after all, isn't motion control the future? kinect will fail
No dude your just ignorant for making this thread. How can you possibly think the PS3 will be able to compete with a system that will be 10x more powerful? And the 360 and PS3 arnt that far apart with there hardware.Dont kid yourself. Wait, wait, wait..... did we just go from the famous, "Just wait", to a new and updated, "IN THE FUTURE"???? Hmmmmm..... ;)[QUOTE="JediRiff"][QUOTE="HavocV3"]
Mass Effect is great and all, but I'll take Halo.
Halo is weaker in single-player, but stronger in about everything else. really strong multi-player and co-op values. Forge will make it better.
Mass Effect 3 is supposed to have multiplayer of sorts, as long as it's nothing past co-op(death match would be:|, I'll mark it up as an even better series if it comes around.
For the love of GOD... NO MULTIPLAYER in ME!!!!! Bioware, I hope you have better sense than to do this...co-op would be excellent. 1 Shepard and two friends as squadmates. but a deathmatch style would be instant fail to where said fail is unexplainable.
It always boils down to personal choice, but I would hate to even see co-op. This game is all about the single player experience, and anything else would just detract from it, for me.
