They are better than the other in different aspects. Yet they balance out equally in the end in the "fun" factor.

Nintendo was never really an underdog in any generation. It was always a huge gaming powerhouse The Wii's progress was just as forseen. Sony's was a bit different, since it got off on the wrong foot. And Microsoft continued to improve on itself and establish itself as a serious gaming company.
