My incredible new game idea

I have an awesome idea for a game. It is called I AM ZINKU.

Zinku is the main character and the game is an action/platformer.

You travel through a jungle world collecting weapons and skills. Think BANJO meets NG meets SPLINTER CELL in a medieval fantasy world.

What sets this game apart is it's use of the headset and voice commands. When your health is dropping or you are about to fall from a cliff you yell into the mic "I AM ZINKU! I AM ZINKU!!" The game has a decibel meter that it reads and the louder you yell the more benefit you get. It also checks to make sure you said that exact phrase.

There will be vehicles. The initial stealth based quests will have you collecting specific parts you need to make the WIND REAVER. This is a hang glider that shoots magic fireballs.

There is also a vehicle called UNDERWATER STANLEY which is a zombie/robot armor you design so you can explore the deep lakes.

The ultimate quest is to free your jungle village from the evil grasp of King Hoe who is a lizard man with a pirahna head.

The Times That Try Men's Souls

I've been on pretty good behavior lately. Or for some reason no one has reported me for things some mod might find suspension worthy. Or whatever. Anyway...

SW has once again hit rock bottom. If it was an alcoholic it's liver would have given out long ago. There are so many idiots in there right now it's all I can do to not say things off the top of my head that would result in some serious TOS stuff. The sad thing is your blog on this site isn't free speech. It's just another place where the mods control your words. So I can't even vent in here. I am forced to kill the neighborhood cats with a post hole digger.

WAHHH WAHHH! Yeah I know.

So I watched an episode of South Park ON DEMAND that I had never seen before. It's the one that parodies YOU GOT SERVED. I'm not going to bother writing the real title because it might be a TOS violation. It was frigging hilarious. I thought I was going to bust a gut laughing. I have seen a lot of South Park's, not all but a lot, and that leaped to the top of my all time funniest list.

Why did you say that?

Sometimes this is a question I ask myself. Yes it is not a good sign of mental health but it is question I can answer honestly.

I said it because many times I ask myself another question first. What is the absolute most stupid thing I could possibly say at this point in time in regards to subject X? Then I write or say the answer to that question which brings about the "Why did you say that?" question.

For example, someone is talking about riding bicycles down a hill with no hands on a handle bar, I would break in and say "That's impossible." Everyone in the group would argue that not only is it very much possible but they have all done it. I would continue to argue that it is impossible until someone said something like "WTF ever man shut up you are an idiot."

So I guess the real answer would be I find it funny. I like to amuse myself in such a way as to not hurt others. Mostly...

If you have never seen it before go out and get a movie called HEAD. It stars The Monkees and is directed by Jack Nicholson and some other dudes or something. It has an interesting discussion about humor and laughter.

How many bans could a ban dodger dodge if a ban dodger could dodge bans?

WOW! System Wars seems to be flooded with them in the past couple days. They pretty much reveal they aren't just new when they reveal how familiar they are with the board terminology and people that post on it but have an extremely low rank and a handful of posts.

I used to be really against ban dodgers but a boatload of moderations later I can understand why people do it. If the moderation system is going to be a joke you might as well have a laugh and snub it by going around it. The fact Gamespot is so obnoxious about their "banned" screen doesn't help matters.

Anyway...yeah.

Gamespot: Where censorship isn't a theory but a way of life

There are certain things that aren't allowed to be said on this site. Actually it's more like there are certain things you can say and those seem to dwindle by the minute. I guess the long term goal for this website is to forge a kind of universal groupthink where everyone agrees completely on everything in the most mundane terminology imaginable. I believe this is an example of what the site would like to see from every post in the forums and every blog.

Gamespot is great.

I love Gamespot.

1st response: Yes they are great.

2nd response: Yes they are great.

3rd response: Yes they are great.

4th response: Yeah they are good.

Two minutes later a message is dispatched to the 4th response: You have been suspended for 4 days TOS violations disruptive posting.

After complaining to customer service and waiting for the rest of their natural life for a response...is there any wonder this site has so many account suicides and ban dodgers?

Well Moldonhold warned me. They go after your blog just like they go after your forum posts. Pretty sad really.

Random musings

So the big news is that Warner Brothers has stopped supporting the HD-DVD format and will exclusively support Blu-ray. This has caused quite a stir in System Wars. The forum is flooded with posts about how this is the death knell for 360. Most threads about this are being locked but there are others allowed to remain open. It's this kind of haphazard approach to moderation that reveals something I have always suspected to be true. The mods play favorites and will ignore blatant flaming and trolling from these favorites. I guess this shouldn't come as a shock to me but this latest round has made it blindingly clear. I have been told to "shut up" and "go home and cry"both comments which represent clear TOS violationsand the mods have turned a blind eye to my request. It's very disappointing.Wah wah wahright!

Flushing Money Down the Toilet Chasing the Magical PC Gaming Dragon

I stopped PC gaming awhile ago. Why? I didn't want to flush money down the toilet chasing the magical PC gaming dragon. The system that brought me to this decision was the XBOX and the PC game that brought me to this decision was DOOM 3. The pace of upgrading to keep up with the games had accelerated to a ridiculous point while the games themselves were not offering enough value to justify the upgrade. So I decided to game on console and stop messing around with my computer. The XBOX offered enough features to justify and graphic fidelity to keep me sated and a good enough mix of console and PC gamings for me to not regret my decision.

The Problem with System Wars

Imagine you are fighting a duck with a razor blade beak that can generate tornado winds with its flappers.

That's not the problem with System Wars. The problem is snitches. The worst snitches are the ban dodgers followed by hermits followed by lurkers.

Now imagine the duck slicing up cantaloupe with its beak like a sashimi chef on metamphetamines.

That's not the problem with System Wars. The problem is people can't take a joke or they are malicious or something. When I first started getting into chat rooms and message boards (well over a decade ago) I would take things pretty personally but System Wars is such a fundamentally ridiculous forum I have never felt personally injured by anything. I admit I will snitch on people but only and I mean only if they call someone an idiot, fool, etc. which is clearly again the TOS. Out of all my moderations I have never done anything like that...I think...mostly I get moderated for...ridiculous ********

Now imagine that same duck has thrown up the sliced pieces of cantaloupe and sent them flying at you with tornado wind speed.

That's the problem with System Wars.
