Game Ambitions in 2022 + Releases

I don't know about you, but I have all types of games I want to play or try each year. I typically filter them into 4 categories, and this video explains all of them, which includes my most anticipated games releases in 2022.

Update - HEY THERE!

Hey there! Feels like a lifetime since I've seen your smiley faces. Here's a current update since I last talked to you!

Current game I play every day: Smite. Arena and Joust Mode. Main: Artemis with the Mystic Archer featured below. I dont like the color pink but ever since I tried this skin last November I was hooked! The voice pack has lingo I'd use with the hi as "HEY THERE!", and other hilarious phrases she uses. The projectiles are a starburst🌠, and something about this skin reminds me of a new animated version of Rainbow Bright with a dash of Jem and the Holograms. I do play Conquest every now and then only to find I'm better at Arena and Joust. Need to find a solid Conquest guide. I also play all kinds of other characters (Da Ji, Nu Wa, Ymir, Athena, Discordia) but I'm not nearly as good as I am with Artemis. I love the traps and the AOE, reminds me of my hunter in World of Warcraft.

Current single player game I have been trying to finish for months now: Life is Strange: Before the Storm

Games I revisit every few months: Fallout 4 and Dead by Daylight, occasionally get in some Castle Crashers and Roblox with my nephew. And, I need to get back into The Outer Worlds -, really enjoyed it when I had the Xbox Game Pass.

Current games experiment: I loaded up Xbox 360 and started Dance Central. I never finished that game and I am considering other Dance games. Because, why not!

Future game experiment: Dig back into the Wii games, it's been too long...

Current games rejections: Nintendo Switch, Animal Crossing, VR games (although I did try Quake 1 level 1 map once).

Games I am giving another chance: Fallout 76

Current hobby outside of games: Gardening and hanging out with my super smart dog, Rocket!

Current Audiobook: Renegades by Marissa Meyer, it's about super heroes and the protagonist' hate for them.

Summary Excerpt: Nova has a reason to hate the Renegades, and she is on a mission for vengeance. As she gets closer to her target, she meets Adrian, a Renegade boy who believes in justice — and in Nova. But Nova's allegiance is to a villain who has the power to end them both.

Hit me up via GS MSG, Twitter or Facebook.

Hope you're doing well,Until next time!

2016 Update!

Hey there! It's been quite a while since I've mingled with everyone online or in game. I was at Riot Games for a couple of years, which was an amazing adventure handling their online tournaments and colleague programs. I'm now getting back into the swing of things and would love to see how things are going with all of you, which platforms you're playing on, and what genres (and games) you're into. Possibly get back into game nights for old time's sake?

To catch you up on my end, I've created a monthly recap video series. January and February 2016 has been released and March through October is on the way. I'm also considering 2013 through 2015 recaps since I left GameSpot and another Q&A video like I did with my 5th anniversary at GameSpot, so definitely watch my Youtube channel for updates.

As for other changes in my life, I have a new sidekick. Rocket is named after my favorite weapon (projectile) in Quake. ;) She's also the same dog breed as Dogmeat from Fallout 3 and the dog in the Mad Max film.

Back to the game nights idea, which games and platform? To start, I was considering some older multiplayer games that we already have, maybe even playing some Burnout for old time's sake, remember that Billboard song I did from being so frustrated with the Xbox 360 billboard achievement?

Also, what times work best for everyone? And if you're not sure, we could play games based on previous GameSpot game nights for fun. hah.

Suggested game:

Platform:

Days of the week that work best (Mon through Sunday):

Time and timezone:

Not sure? Play previous GameSpot game nights: (YES or NO)

I look forward to your updates and responses!

Return to Azeroth IV

I'm not like many of my friends who proclaim never to touch World of Warcraft again. I'm always curious about what's changed when a new expansion roles out. I do tend to play the latest expansion a month or so later to avoid the crowds, but I always check them out. It's kind of like visiting my hometown. When new buildings are built on land you recall as a child, visiting as an adult I find myself pondering what it used to look like. That's how it is visiting World of Warcraft if you haven't played since the Cataclysm. Every time I re-visit Azeroth I wonder what used to be in certain places before the Cataclysm.

Last year when Mists of Pandaria was released my computer was having problems running games. I talked to Justicecovert about getting on board to play but also never made the time. I also dislike how crowded servers get early on in an expansion because I find myself waiting for things to spawn.

It has been a year since the release of Mists of Pandaria and I'm finally playing it. We all heard that the battle system was the game changer. It's a clever mini game that gets players to visit lower level zones to level up their level or capture pets. I think what makes this different than Pokemon is the connection you have with an old toon. There's just something so gratifying seeing your old toon dance around after their pet wins a battle. I also find myself visiting places I rarely visited to level up my pets.

I was surprised that I've only came across one Pandaren so far. At first I thought she was a dwarf but she was much cuter than one! You'd think that I'd come across more level 80 Pandaren toons by now! I've need create a Pandaren character soon in hope of finding more!

Have you played all four expansions?

Who do you follow!

Hey peeps! For the past month I've been looking for some new visual media subscriptions for my social channels like Instagram and deviantart. Sadly, if I do a search on the web for awesome Instagram gaming folks, it's not that easy to find results. If I do a search on deviantart that place can take days to go through.

So, if you have any suggestions, let me know! Of course, if you have an account there and publish cool stuff, please share it here or via PM. :)

Happy E3 Day Zero!

Hello my lovelies! I watched the E3 TV Preview and noticed a couple of games I haven't been following! Is there any other games you're looking forward to this year? I'm keeping an eye on the gems and plan to follow the game page to get updates about them.

Things have been doing pretty good with the new gig. It sometimes doesn't feel like work because it is that much fun. Our game will be at the NVIDIA booth so if you're attending be sure to drop by to check out the tech destruction demo, currently not in the open beta. Oh, I guess the secret is out if you follow my Twitter. :D

Lastly, I can't believe my last blog reached over 200 comments. Thanks again for everyone's kind words. I only saw one rage quit from  the site, and even he wished me well. Also, if you don't already have me on Steam (xpcaligirl) or Raptr (CaliGirl), feel free to add me!

And.. have a Happy E3 week full of exciting news and hype! I'll have to make sure I take a peek in System Wars this week to see what you all think about the hardware and games. <3

Farewell GameSpotters

Can you believe it has been almost 8 years since I first started working at GameSpot? How it began, GameSpot contacted me to ask if I knew of any competitive Unreal Tournament gamers for E3 2005. I provided a solid professional gamer and it didn't take long for them to offer a community manager position for the GameCenter service that allowed you to build your own game servers. I've pretty much done everything at GameSpot, from a daily show to stage show assistance but one area I never touched is reviews, and for good reason! It's a tough job.  Outside GameSpot, I've dealt with other games media networks, events, and services but now it's time to see how games are built from a developer's point of view. The game I'll be working with has two of my favorite gameplay components: rocket packs and rocket launchers! LOL But yes, the game is a competitive shooter so I fit right in.

I'll miss all of you but I know we'll keep in touch. As for whether or not you're in good hands, GameSpot staff is working diligently around the clock to rebuild the site. I can't wait to see what's on the horizon!

Neat Animated GIF by matastig

I just found this neat animated .gif by matastig on my Fuse feed. Thanks for the hair movement! I'm not sure it'll be that easy to use on GameSpot with the new image uploading policies, but maybe I'll use it for special ocasions!

Guild Wars 2 Thoughts

My experience with Guild Wars happened in the month of February so this is recollection of my thoughts then, as promised in my recent blog.

Aren't you a beauty - Mech Fever

I've always been into robots, droids, and the like. I think it started as a kid when CP30 and R2D2 were a big deal to me, but it could also be because I had an older brother that was into Voltron and Transformers. Seems like my circuit of friends continue to say Hawken is where it's at so I've been playing the game off and on for the past month.
