Running the site as a solo community manager over the past few years makes things quite difficult. I'm pulled in every which way you can imagine and sometimes it takes me an entire weekend to catch up on things without getting any overtime pay and not all of the tasks get completed. There simply isn't enough time in a day. I enjoy working here and a lot of the tasks might be fun but I can only do so much to make a difference.
Now that time is becoming even tighter I need to cut back on some areas to focus on continued education. Working on days off can be a tiring tasks when it happens weeks if not months in a row. While I have others areas I'll be targeting to help ease the excessive work hours, one of the tasks I enjoy doing happens to be the weekly report. Many of you have noticed that I have been unable to be consistent with the weekly report for months now. I'd like to continue to offer these reports every week because your contributions mean a lot to us; however, the research it takes to read through your blogs, user reviews, and watch your creative videos takes time that I need to complete other tasks that happen behind scenes. After all, there are so many wonderful GameSpot blog and review writers, and only one JodyR!
With the limited time I have in a given week I have too much on my plate to offer these weekly reports at this time. I do plan to update the Spam Filter with general community news about changes or other happenings, and if I get a chance during a week I'll do a quick round-up of specific features. For instance, maybe I'll have a reviews round-up one week but for weeks in a row I will have no updates about this feature. I might also do the same for blogs or user videos, depending on the work load I have that week. I don't want to neglect the videos or member spotlight section on the forums page so if I stumble across people who deserve being featured I'll save their names to check for the best one at the end of the month. Sadly, this does mean that we only have 3 more member spotlights for the year.
I apologize for the inconvenience and hope for your understanding.
