By 2013 there will be better cards.

Better & more expensive, yes. I'm all about cost for performance. Cheaper SLI setups, outperform more expensive single card setups. My 460s outperform a 570 and a 580. That's $300 for better performance than $400-550. And yes, I've tested this. My brother had a 570 and a 3GB 580, both superclocked and mine outperformed his in every game. He now has a 590 Classified which gets 10-20fps better than me (10 more often than 20), except in Skyrim, we get the same FPS. 590s are extremely overpriced. If these cards get full tri-SLI support or even full dual-card support and they actually increase performance by 90% in SLI and 160%+ in tri-SLI, then they will be the top setup to have for the price. I'm not expecting the next 600 series to be much better, but we will see.

Well I've found that the cards in SLI don't scale very well right now because they're so new. They scale 95% in battlefield 3, but lower than 50% in all the other games i saw it tested with. I'll just have to give it a couple months before i make a decision. I'm fine with what i have for now, but this card looks like it can eventually be fantastic if they get SLI and TRI-SLI scaling to reach a maximum

There any real reason you want to sli or tri-sli?

What resolution you going to be gaming on? SLI on 1080p is pretty much overkill with those GPUs. If you're gaming over 1080p it would make more sense.

I want to use SLI to achieve 60fps with max settings and at least 4xAA on all current games. Using cheaper cards in SLI usually outperforms or is on par with single-GPU higher end cards that cost more. Me and my brother test this quite often. I'll be gaming at 1080p. This card won't max every game without SLI. It will probably fair decently, but won't achieve a constant 60fps. Right now I have two 1GB GTX 460 FTWs in SLI and they play most games at a constant 60fps, but these newer games are starting to drag my FPS down.

Upgrading is one of my hobbies and i like to be prepared for the future of gaming. My cards are currently running out of steam. I won't need to upgrade until 2013, I'm sure, but i still want to and this 560ti 448 looks promising. Check this comparison site out: http://community.futuremark.com/hardware/gpu

Check out the Game Performance with the 560ti 448 and compare it to the 460. Granted the 460 on there is not overclocked (I have FTWs) and it doesn't specify if it's the 1GB version or the 768MB version. But mine can't perform that much better. The 560 448 seems to be much better. I don't get a very good FPS with SLI disabled though, as you can imagine, it cuts my FPS in half in games that really utilize SLI (Skyrim & Arkham City don't seem to scale at all, but Arkham City is known to be broken all around)

How well does this card scale when in SLI? 460s and 560s scale around 80-90%. Is this card any different? I mean, if this beast scales to 80-90% and features tri-sli, then I'm entirely sold. 160-180%? I'll take it. Thanks for any replies. I want facts, not guesses

Just FYI if you go with the 2500k on my setup it runs way over 60 everywhere but in certian citys which are in the high 30's at there lowest points. I also second getting the 2500k over the 2600k. Most games dont use 4 cores yet let alone hyperthreading so i think its a non-issue. Save the hunderd bucks now or wait for ivy if you want to spend 300 bucks on a processor.

Yea i'll take your advice. Though i also get 60fps+ everyhere except in cities. With Shadows on medium, Radial Blur on medium and everything else maxed i get ~40fps in cities and 50-60fps everywhere else. The cities really feel bogged down though, even running at 40fps

If you are going to upgrade to a Sandy Bridge, make sure you get the i5 2500k. It's 100mhz slower (at stock) than the 2600k and doesn't have Hyperthreading which nothing really uses anyway. Oh and it's $100 cheaper than the i7.Spike1988
Is there any reason other than it's $100 cheaper? Hyper-Threading is probably a thing of the future and will be needed eventually

No point of going from a 940 to Sandy BridgeMonsieurX
I was looking for answers to my questions, not an opinion about whether or not i should get a Sandy Bridge. Sorry if I didn't make that clear. My 940 is @2.93 and locked there. I want a fully unlocked CPU and a 3.4GHz that can be overclocked far beyond that, is fairly future proof.

I've heard that a good Sandy Bridge setup can run Skyrim at max settings with 60fps and no slowdowns, since the game is so CPU-heavy. I have two GTX 460 FTW 1GB cards in SLI, but SLI isn't working in Skyrim with my Core i7 940. I've heard that SLI, in fact, works just fine with a Sandy Bridge for Skyrim. The only Sandy Bridges that I can find that interest me, all have built in HD Graphics Chips. Can I still use my 460s with those particular Sandy Bridges? Or am i limited to using the built in HD Chip? Here is a link to a Sandy Bridge that interests me: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819115070&nm_mc=KNC-GoogleAdwords&cm_mmc=KNC-GoogleAdwords-_-BlackFriday-_-NA-_-NA

You know what, i may as well just include the 560 ti as well. How well do those scale and perform vs a 460 FTW?

Can anyone tell me which video card is better? I currently have two 1GB GTX 460 FTWs in SLI. They scale extremely well. I get a 90% FPS increase going from a single card, to SLI. How do the GTX 560s scale? I don't mean the 560 ti's, I mean the 560s. I want answers from personal experience and testing. If two GTX 560 2GB cards in SLI can get me 10-20 FPS better, then I'll make the upgrade. But if it's less than 10 FPS then it's not worth it
