same thing yeah... and to reply to above responses, I have the most recent drivers up to this date and still freezes. I am now using Vista, but I really don't like it, and I tried windows 7 beta (big mistake for me, even more of an unstable os). I just want my card to work normally with Xp. I even tried windows xp professional 64-bit and even freezes with that too. Its seemed like I've tried everything, but I want to know why it only works for vista, and not xp? And only San Andreas Freezes, and not another game? I'm thinking that there's got to be files included with vista os that can be inserted into xp to fix the freezing - maybe stupid thought, but maybe that's what it is. =/
Hi, I was wondering if you all could maybe help me here with a graphics problem I have. June 2008 I bought my new pc, Dell Inspiron 530. Specs - 3gb Ram, Intel Core 2 quad processor, 128mb Intel graphics (integrated). Well I always play Grand theft Auto San Andreas on my new pc, and I wasn't too pleased of my Graphics performance, but I had played with it for awhile. The pc also came with windows Vista home premium, which didn't please me either. So I installed windows Xp home edition on it, and everything worked fine. Last December I bought a new graphics card - Nvidia Geforce 9800 gt 512mb. I installed it and it worked fine ... until I had problems playing my San Andreas. After about 3-5 minutes into playing the game, my game would just freeze. It freezes for about 30 seconds, then unfreezes, but then all the textures are out of place, (ie: roads are white, tires are white, map radar has a road texture on it, etc.) After the first freeze, the pc acts strange, when I quit the game, it takes like 10 seconds until the desktop appears (same with minimizing the game too). Keep in mind, the game performs perfectly smooth with the new graphics until it freezes. The pc acts normal again after I restart it, but the freezing always happens with GTA SA. But here's what makes me angry, my new Grand theft Auto IV works perfectly fine with the card, although I DO NOT PLAY Grand Theft Auto IV. I have found a solution, although I am not pleased with my solution. I have installed windows Vista back onto the pc, although this makes me incredibly angry because I don't like Vista. But my game works again. A few times, I have tried going back to XP, but the freezing still happens. Well sorry I have written alot here, but I tried to give as much important details as I could. If anyone could help me, it would be great so I could go back using windows XP. I realize that some would think that I'm crazy all because I want xp, but I work on the PC alot, and nothing pisses me off more than an unstable OS. So again, if anyone could help me, it would be great. Thanks )
