I don't get it....
I thought it was miles ahead of World at War.
Which means that it is an improvement.
I enjoyed just about every minute of it online.
I'm so confused by the gaming community today.

Let's face it guys. 2009 was a mediocre year for gamers everywhere. There was probably one huge hit in every genre and that's about it. The nominees this year are all 9's. There is not one game there that got a 10. So how close will this game of the year award series be? Probably not very close.
Those of you who follow gaming very closely will realize that the VGA's chose Uncharted 2 as their game of the year. Most likely gamespot will follow that choice. But how good of a choice was it? Was it the right one? There are so many factors to way in this year because of the nominees' complete differences. How can you compare Forza Motorsport with Assassins Creed? It doesn't make any sense.
Well there is one just way to tell what game truly deserves game of the year. Through this method tough, the winner is not even a candidate. I'm talking of course about Modern Warfare 2. I'm not here to preach to the world that MW2 is the best game over and everyone should have it. It's not and they shouldn't. This game though. Broke so many sales records it is truly insane. It was the most anticipated game that I have ever lived to see. Now it's not even a nominee? Is this for real? I mean come on gamespot. You guys may not have liked the game but I'm willing to bet the near 10 million other people did. That game made bank and you're not going to recognize it at all? Plus there are huge improvements to the game that we didn't see in modern warfare which DID receive the game of the year.
There was a huge graphics boost. The campaign's graphics were amplified and the online detail had the visual appeal of the originals campaign. The weapon choice is now even more diverse and there are just enough weapon bring backs to keep the game familiar. The new maps are expansive and gorgeous and very well balanced. The new perk system is the best that any call of duty game has ever had and the amount of weapon attachments adds an insane amount of customization to the game. The new prestige challenges are also a welcome bonus. Finally something new to make prestige less of a stab in the heart every time I click yes 3 times. There is also the welcome addition of titles and emblems. With over 30 pages of emblems and titles you can make a combination so unique that nobody in the world would have the same combination of Level, title, and emblem. Plus earning these unique call signs is a blast. Another lofty addition was the custom kill streaks. Not only are they custom but they added an insane amount of new kill streaks to choose from. With all of these additions gamespot excuse for this not being a nominee for game of the year could never be "It's just more of the same"
For those of you who say, "Well that's all online bonuses, the campaign has nothing new!" Well, you're wrong. I don't know how many of you tried to do the museum on veteran but if you think that there's not enough to the campaign I suggest trying that. That's a real treat if you want a challenge. Not to mention the addition of special ops. There are a ton of bonuses for non online play as well. But the real question is why the hell you bought it if you weren't going to play online. But that's for another rant.
Well gamespot, all I can say is nice job picking your candidates. You really know how to piss me off. Now I'm going to end up investing over 20 days of game play on a game that isn't the game of the year. Oh whoops,I forgot that all those other nominees had the ability to keep a person entertained for over 400 hours. My bad.
