What do you think?

Im Back.

Yeah... Im back.

I left GS quite a long time ago... The reason, well, Uhh... I dont know really.
I just sorta gave up on it, i think.
Most of you dont care anyway, so, No biggie i guess...

In that time i was gone, i got a Wii. Got it yesterday to be exact. So now i have a few games and i love playing them. Add me as a friend, i could use someone to talk to there.

I might catch y'all later, i hope.

Wait a sec... Jeff Gerstmann is fired?!

What the...??

"Veteran reviewer, Jeff Gerstmann, has been with Gamespot since 1996 but he was fired Wednesday morning, presumably for harsh Kane & Lynch review.

The story was revealed by Primotech who accredited it to "a fellow Gamespot contributor and close friend of Gerstmann who wished to remain anonymous".
It was also confirmed by Penny Arcade which published a comic about the incident. Penny Arcade's Jonathan Gabriel then stated that "the comic is true. You should see the news breaking soon."

Eidos have been heavily advertising Kane & Lynch on Gamespot for quite a while, but the campaign stopped soon after the Gerstmann's firing news/rumor broke.

Gerstmann's Kane and Lynch review has been harsh, but not as harsh as his video review of the same game. In the video review, Gerstmann criticized the game's "impossible to like" characters, "lazy" script and excessive profanity.

After some digging around we can confirm that Gerstmann has been fired, but we can't confirm if Kane & Lynch's review was the reason.

The review has been published on 13, November, 2007 while Gerstmann has been fired on November 28th. Also, the review in question is still available on Gamespot. Both facts may indicate that the whole story is just a rumor. However, the delay can be justified as the time needed for Eidos to negotiate/pressure with Gamespot, and we must point out that the harsher video review is no longer linked on the site."

10.0- Not what you think.

Ok, this is a little something that i see in gamespot player reviews for quite a while, and i just cant understand:
Why do people give stright 10s?

Do you know what a 10 is? 10 (Ten), means PERFECT, which means FLAWLESS.
Do you know what FLAWLESS is? this means that the game has nothing bad in it. nothing. zip. zero. nada.

So howcome when i read certin player reviews, I see this:
"...This game is amazing, great graphics, although the sound could be better"
or
"... Awesome level design with great weapons, but the multiplayer could use some more maps"

Understand this people. If a game has something BAD at it, it should NOT get a 10!
Now, I can understand if you wanted to rate a game, lets say 9.8. But you cant. So just dont give a game a 10. People dont need to start thinking "Hmm... Maybe he ment 9.8? Or is it 9.7??"

So finally, there are 2 solutions here:
1. Dont rate a game 10, unless you are SURE there is absolutely NOTHING worng with it.
2. Make gamespot change back to the old, good rating system.

Please understand that its nothing against you. Im only saying this because thats how i feel, and thats how i think.
Sorry if by any chance it hurt anyone.

Where am I?

Or should I say, where WAS I?

Well.. Its just that i am getting so much games lately (From Gears of War, to CoD4, to GHIII), i just dont have time to see gamespot. sure i have other things to do like HW and friends and stuff but, you get the idea...

anyway ill try to check out gamespot more often.
onl last thing:

DO NOT BELIVE GAMESPOT WITH GOW PC!

EA Wanna-be MS?

Yes...

Apparently, or, as I see it, EA (Electronic Arts, in case you didn't know) is trying to do to gaming industry, what MS (Microsoft, I'm sure you know that) has done already.

I am talking about monopole. no, not the popular board game, which i love so very much, im talking about the real deal.

By buying Bioware/Pandemic EA is trying to conquer the gaming industry, which, imho, is a bad move.
Much like Microsoft, products from ea will become, in my opinion, a minimum standard.
By that i mean, for example:
Paint (by MS) is the easiest, and most basic program for image editing, while Photoshop (by Adobe) is for pros.
Got the idea?

Its just a matter of time before EA will make the same mistake (or not?) MS did.

So I say:
STOP THE MADNESS!!!!

Let there be rivalry between companies! STOP EA's monopole!

Whats your opinion?

(by the way, if you are wondering where was I these past days, i was here, watching you.... and getting addicted to thrillville (which i will review soon) and "Drift City".)
