yeah but most people dont read all the way through. You seem to be one of a very few. Plus 2 they must have just recently updated it. Cause all day G4 had this info. Plus the update is such a small info. They need to update the news section with a topic say ghostbusters and more not canceled. Just to stop the people who dont read all they way or who stop read after the hear canceled/in limbo.

Earlier today, Activision Publishing announced a streamlining of its Vivendi Games operations, saying it would be bringing into the fold five of that company's franchises: Crash Bandicoot, Spyro the Dragon, Ice Age, Prototype, and one unannounced game.

An Activision representative later confirmed for GameSpot that those would be the only Vivendi Games franchises coming out of the publisher. That leaves a number of high-profile projects in limbo, including Double Fine Productions' Brutal Legend, as well as Wet, Ghostbusters, Chronicles of Riddick: Assault on Dark Athena, World at Conflict: Soviet Assault, 50 Cent Blood on the Sand, Zombie Wranglers, Leisure Suit Larry: Box Office Bust, plus several Xbox Live Arcade titles.

"The only franchises that Activision Publishing will release are based on Crash Bandicoot, Ice Age and Spyro, as well as Prototype, and one other game that has not yet been announced," the representative said. "We are reviewing our options regarding those titles that we will not be publishing."

Activision Blizzard has other publishing arms like Blizzard Entertainment and Activision Value that were not covered by the press release and could be among the options being reviewed. As of press time, representatives from those companies did not return requests for comment.

A scheduled Comic-Con International panel on the Ghostbusters game was abruptly cancelled last week, with no explanation given to attendees. However, the game was on the show floor in playable form.

[UPDATE]: A Sierra Games representative told GameSpot he couldn't speak about all the titles on the list in need of a publisher, but stressed that Ghostbusters is not canceled.

I'm sick of seeing post on most gameing site of people freaking cause the read gamespots news article

http://www.g4tv.com/xplay/blog/post/687604/Ghostbusters_Coming_Others_Canceled.html

An internet report from Games Industry.biz fueled fears that the eagerly awaited Ghostbusters game was ash-canned by Activision Blizzard. The game and a number of other high-profile titles were left off a the company's latest release schedule.

"We have conducted a thorough review of Vivendi Games' brand portfolio and are retaining those franchises and titles that are a strong fit with our long-term product strategy. We are reviewing our options regarding those titles that we will not be publishing," Activision Blizzard said in a statement. Crash Bandicoot, Spyro the Dragon, Ice Age, Radical Entertainment's Prototype and another unannounced game will be coming out.

Activision says not to worry about Ghostbusters, though. It's coming: Sierra, the game's developer, said through their PR team : "[Ghostbusters] is not canceled and will not be canceled." Breathe a sigh of relief, fans... but don't breathe too hard. Here are the other titles that were left off the release list:

  • Brutal Legend: The action-adventure game starring Jack Black is slated for release on the 360 and PS3 has no release date scheduled yet.
  • 50 Cent: Blood on the Sand: This action game starring the famous rapper in the Middle East is scheduled for a fall release on the PS3 and 360. No word yet on what the status of this awesomely ridiculous game will be. We'll be bummed if we can't play this. Look at the trailer!
