OK I will give that a shot. In case this is the problem do you know how to change the voltage on the second card when 2 cards are in Crossfire? Also mine tends to freeze whenever it feels like it, it will do it during SC2 matches and it comes back before battle.net kicks me. It's definitely one of the weirdest problems i have had lol

Thought I would throw this out there if anyone has an answer. I have been having a problem with my new PC pretty much since I built it. But I have fixed everything but one thing that is VERY annoying. I will start out with my specs:

Amd Phenom II x4 965 Black edition 3.4gig

Gigabyte 790xta-ud4 motherboard

4 gigs of corsair dominator ram

2x Radeon 5850 1gig (Crossfired)

750 watt power supply

1tb WD Cavier Black usb3 Hard Drive

Windows 7 Professional 64bit

I have a problem with this PC, basically it works great 90% of the time but everyday between 3-6 times a day at random times my system will freeze for about 30-45 seconds. I will not be able to click anything open anything move anything, my movies will stop playing but audio continues to play. The computer than snaps out of it like nothing happened at all and catches right back up to itself.

I thought it was my AVG and AD Aware so I uninstalled them, still happens.

I read online it can be caused by system indexing being turned on so I disables that, still happens.

Ran virus scans from my computer and from online services like trend micro nothing found.

I have done system stability test with prime 95 and with amd overdrive both have been done for 8hours while i was at work all tests pass.

I have current drivers, and stay on top of that.

One thing to not it appears that i have one instance of svchost.exe that uses a crap load of resources.

I appreciate any assistence, I'm really at my wits end

Thanks for the suggestions I will try flashing the bios.

I knew the the ram wasn't on the list but I had read the reviews on new egg and there were people running that ram in the board. It also shouldn't run at all in theory but it does run with one stick in just not both. I do know all the dimms work as i have tried the working stick in all of them and ran memtest every single one passed.

I'm really at my wits end here. I built a new pc last week everything got detected in the bios and windows installed just fine. The next day when I booted the pc up, It blue screened with a stop error 50 which is faulty memory. That tells me it pretty much has to be the ram. Sure enough I pull on the the sticks and it boots with out a hitch.

I ran it the rest of the day it runs just fine one one stick. I tried the other stick it runs on its own as well. So I'm thinking it has to be my ram slots. I have tested both sticks in each ram slot no errors at all. I downloaded memtest 86 and made a bootable cd. ran memtest on each stick in each slot each stick passes. but when I put them in together in any combination or slots the program shuts down and restarts my computer in literally 2 seconds after starting. So I'm really at my wits end here.

I would also like to add that it will work with both sticks in for the rest of the day if i boot up with one stick in then shutdown and add the second stick. It will run for the rest of the day but when i shut it down at night and boot up in the morning with both sticks in it blue screens again just like the first day.

From what I have read it may have something to do with timing, but I purchased a matched pair their should be no issues at all.

Not sure if this is the right forum for this but I didn't see anywhere else to put it.

I have a problem, I have a ati radeon hd 2600xt (old i know i wanna upgrade but can't atm). Recently I have been getting errors while playing game where the gpu will reset itself and it minimizes my game to tell me this and brings up a nice error reporting box. This just started happening recently I had my card for a year prior to this. I did some research updated my drivers all that fun stuff still had the problem. I opened my Catalyst control center today to maybe tweak some stuff and i noticed that my gpu is running retardedly hot. average of 67-72 degrees celcius. Immediatly i thought it was a fan not working or something i looked at all of them they are all working fine. My cpu and motherboard temperature are normal cpu at 42 and motherboard at 37 degrees.

I took the side of my case off to help cool it down and have a house fan blowing towards it and I am also in a air conditioned room. The temperature is not moving at all. I tryed to play a game of Tf2 not working about and and i alt tab to see that my gpu is now 90degrees and shortly after my computer shuts off. This happens on any game i try to play now. I'm really confused.

Thanks in advance.
