thanks for the great argument. But that is the future. It's already in motion and most people know about. The limiting factor is how soon and how to boost bandwidth to accommodate it. But it's the future.
It will be at least 10 years, probably more before bandwidth outside of the largest 30 metro areas in the United States is able to accommodate high definition movies and next generation games.
Digital downloads are FAR in the future. Right now DVD needs a replacement.
It may be here sooner than we think..but I agree. Services like FiOS are, IMO, a revolutionary leap in how quickly data is shared. It is inevitable that we have quick connections since pretty soon, everything will be HD including our television programs.
I thnk by 2009 all major networks will offer programs in HD
