Ok thanks, wont take em too seriously anymore.trusting jake is like trusting a drug dealer to not plant drugs on you to avoid getting arrested.
this being said the fx-6100 is not a huge improvement over your cpu. in many cases the fx-6100 is alot more in like with a phenom II x6 1055t which emans that its about as good as a phenom II x4 970 at STOCK sometimes worse.
look for an fx-6300 which is as good as a core i7-920. its a much nicer cpu and is often only a little more than an fx-6100
id like to point out for the future that jake456 and solidpanda are both ahrdcore intel trolls and shoot down anything AMD or otherwise.

What would you recommend in that price range?
Not a fan of AMD? Or is it just crappy? I recommended he go with a AMD 965 cause you can get it on sale cheap.
My buddies building a computer soon, and NCIX has some good deals right now. Is this a good mobo, cpu combo? I wasn't sure about these processors, havnt heard much about em, but what do you guys think?
Yay I got an A. 32ms with 2ms jitter whatever that is!For video gaming, it's about your ping and your upload speed. If your download speed is over 3 mb/s, you're fine.
Run this test and it will tell you how stable your connection is and what your ping is through your ISP to the nearest server they host.
If you have a lot of jitter in the line or a high ping, even a high speed internet is going to suck.
Also a good modem/router is a must. I suggest buying a modem instead of just renting one and then getting a good router. These aren't cheap btw, but they will work for a long time and improve your speeds, stability, and connection.

Can't wait to get this! Crysis 1 looked absolutely amazing especially back in the day. The graphics provided a really immersive environment. Probably my favourite shooter to this day.
I don't mind a bit of blur, but in some games its a little heavy and gets really annoying.
Damn you guys are rich! Upgraded from 480's to 680's!! Lucky all I got is a 460.... If you have the cash than yea I guess so, but imo I would go for a catleap or achieva. Yea its a great monitor, but I would never fork out 800$ on a monitor. Thats almost as much as my whole computer.
Edit: You can also get catleaps that are overclockable to 120hz for like 500$. Best of both worlds.
This^^Simply install Windows on the new one. Boot from it. Copy stuff from the other disk and then format the old one so that it is empty to put more stuff in it.

[QUOTE="nutcrackr"]Seriously though, the way you describe it pretty much explains why games are $60 and budgets are insane. Baranga
If he's talking about the Burnaby facility, that's one of the biggest studios in the world. They make sports games IIRC.
Yea it was the studio in Burnaby. Absolutely amazing facility! They have a seperate building dedicated to motion capture for all the sports games ie Hockey, Golf, etc. Unfortunately we didn't get a tour of the Mo Cap building, because I guess they had some filming going on. They also make the NFS games, Sims, and Skate if you've heard of it. Best skateboarding game of all time.Didn't learn any secrets then?

Well our tour guide did talk briefly about next gen consoles and how they all sign a non disclosure agreement. He talked to us about how they get to test all the consoles out like a year before they are actually released, which was pretty awesome.
