I bought the game and headset together. I hated the game, so I sold it. I like the headset because it shows the battery life on the screen, and it can be muted; however, it hurts my ear. I think it has to do with how your ear is shaped, because some people love it. I think it's uncomfortable, so I just don't really put it in my ear, only on the outside - and I can still hear fine. It is very clear, and it was definitely worth the money in my opinion.

If he likes racing, I would get him the new Need for Speed, coming out on 11/18. If he likes shooters, I would get him Resistance 2 or Call of Duty: World at War. If he likes platformer games (like Super Mario Bros type), then I would get him Little Big Planet (my favorite so far, and I am a girl). Good luck, and let us know what you end up getting him. I'm sure he'll be thrilled with whatever you choose!

LBP definitely!

I purchased Socom and played it several times. I was extremely disappointed with the server performance issues. It was really frustrating, and the game itself just didn't impress me like I thought i would. I am a huge fan of COD4 and Resistance, so I thought for sure I would love it, but no way.. I did buy the headet package, and I would say that it was worth it, because I sold the game and I really love the headset, especially for LBP!

I can honestly say that I think that LBP is the best PS3 game yet! Definitely get it, and if you do - let me know. My PSN ID is PugLover.
