onLive also provides rental service. you can see that from the trailer, you can rent the likes of mirror's edge or prince of persia for 5 days. that's what attract me the most. for most single player game, i only played it once, for about a week. then i moved on to a new one. the rental service (as long as we don't need to pay too much for it, i'll pay 10$ to rent a game for 5 days, hell most of us pays 15$ to watch movie ONCE in theater) is really great, i hope most games in onLive supports it, then i'll gladly subscribe to onlive even if i need to pay 20$ a month subscription fee.

Now this is an optimized game. Not like that Crysis! PC at this time are just not ready for Crysis. It's image quality is just too good for this time.

Tornado07 & da6t3 look at GPU test section of this article. 7900GTX can run this game at 1280x1024 medium with 17 FPS. So it is not technically possible to port this game to 360 or PS3 (their GPU are almost as powerful as 7900 GTX). But the image quality would not be like the screenshot. If they really port this game to console, the graphic would not be better than the console version of Bioshock or CoD4. I hope they did not port this game to console because I think the result would be like porting Mafia (the 2002 game) to PS2. Mafia lost all of it's glory on PS2, and so would Crysis if they decided to port it to console.

After playing this game for a while I can say that this game is optimized. I know it sound strange, but just look at the image quality. It's so far ahead of other game (Bioshock, CoD4, GoW) that I think if I rated this game's graphic 10 (at very high setting), I would rate Bioshock, CoD4, GoW graphic 7.5. Bioshock, CoD4, GoW could only compete with medium graphic setting of Crysis. But I still think this game should be release with medium setting as high, and eliminate the very high setting altogether. Like I've said before, why give us an excellent graphic if we could not get a playable frame rate? They could release the very high setting as a patch after NVidia and ATI released a GPU that can handle it.

I'm sorry, but if he is getting 30fps, on High settings, with a 8800 gtx... something is wrong.' Actually nothing is wrong. Because the game is optimized for Vista 64. It will increase the frame rate by 20-35% from XP (it will increase even more if you compare it to Vista 32). So to get the very best of this game (performance and graphic) Vista 64 is the way to go (sadly).

Die-Hard said:'WTF?! 15 fps on very high quality with best graphic card + cpu in existance?' I agree with him. Crytek should release this game with medium setting as high. And in the future when there is a GPU than can run this game at max in resolution 1920x1200 they should release a patch to enable the current high and very high setting. Because even at medium this game look a lot better than any other game before (that includes Bioshock, and CoD 4). Why give us a setting that we can hardly use now?

hsl77 said: 'I meant not THAT good so that I'd spend god knows how much just to play it, and even then, to play it at not anywhere near full quality.' I agree with you completely. I have said it time and again that a game for 2007 should not be more demanding than UT3, Bioshock, or Call of Duty 4. I know that graphically UT3, Bioshock, or Call of Duty 4 are nowhere near Crysis (on very high setting, but even on medium Crysis still looks better), but their graphic is GOOD ENOUGH for this year. Next year with Nvidia 9 series and ATI HD3 series will be a more appropriate time for this game. Why give us great graphic when no one can play it at maximum quality. It's like Crytec is taunting us.

hsl77 maybe for you the gameplay is not good. But for me it offers freedom. First on how to use the nanosuit. You can choose to use stealth to avoid fighting, or choose strength and throw bad guys around with your bare hands, or choose speed and kill them before they realize you're there, or choose armor and start shooting everything in site. That's just on how to utilize nanosuit in one situation. You can approach an enemy camp from any direction. You can circle around and search for vehicle with weapons and drive right into enemy camp guns ablaze. There are so many ways you can approach a situation in this game. If you play Crysis like you play other shooter than you can't see how different it is from other shooter. To truly enjoy Crysis you have to 'free your mind'...
