That's not a huge difference at all :?

UnrealLegend

What do you mean it's not a huge difference? Higher Average score + more quantity+ better graphics, + tougher standards + More variety + better sounds quality.= HUGE win. The 360 just got owned. Real bad.

The difference is like 1%. And since when did the PS3 have tougher standards? You sound like you're making stuff up.

You didn't read my first post that well. It's 1.33%:). In terms of tougher standards, I explained it in my first post. A newer game is judged using tougher standards. An AAA game in 2006 might not receive an AAA score using 2011 standards.

[QUOTE="Funconsole"] Buddy there's only five/six games! Are you honestly telling me that people ONLY buy AAA exclusives over the life of a console? And they are not responsible for a large percentage of sales except for Halo and Gears (not sure about PS3), most console sales are due to multiplats. Which, btw, are the only FAIR and somewhat REASONABLE way to compare consoles. Since *exclusive on 360* is always going to play towards that crowd and the consoles strenght while *exclusive on PS3* will also do the same thing

I am just giving you what I think are facts. I am saying gamers tend to prefer AAA tittles more than AA titles. And when it comes to retail AAA exclusives, Xbox360 is no match for the PS3.

but you're only looking at a small sample of the game libraries. :|

CaseyWegner

AAA exclusives are not small samples. They are responsible for a large percentage of sales. They also pushes the most boundaries in terms of graphics and gameplay. The they act as great differentiators among consoles.

oh yes they are small samples. very small samples. if you include AA games you will see.

I agree that there are more AAs than AAA tittles. I disagree that they are very small samples. But AAAs have a much bigger impact when it comes to gaming choices. One Bill Gates has more financial impact than a thousand you's and me's.

A win is a win :P

It's not just a win. It's a HUGE win. Just about every single category important to a gamer, the PS3 AAA exclusives stand head and shoulders above 360 exclusives.

1% is such a HUUUUUUUUGE difference!

CaseyWegner

Yeah, go figure. It can be the difference between an AAA and an AA. My point is, no matter how you measure it, if you are a gamer, the PS3 exclusives are better than 360 exclusives in just about every way, not just that 1% difference.

[QUOTE="KabennLee"][QUOTE="CaseyWegner"]

why would you take an average and why are both lists so short? :?

CaseyWegner

I was curious. I wanted to see which console has a higher average exclusive score. The list are short because those are all the retail (not downloadable games) that score AAA on Metacritic.

oh dear. why on earth would you only look at AAA scores? is that all we should play? we traditionally look at at least AA and up.

If that's the case, let's not talk about graphics alone. Or exclusives alone. Multiplats alone. Or sales alone. Or anything alone. We should talk about everything at once. Then every topic should be exactly the same because we should bring up every thing that matters in one topic. I was just curious about AAA titles and decided to do a little research on my own, and it so happens that PS3 AAA exclusives are clearly better than the 360's. Some people might not like it, but it's the truth.

Gears of war isn't exclusive.Fightingfan
This makes the PS3 better than the 360 in terms of quantity. Also, the 360's average score is now lower as well. Further proof that the PS3 is much better than the 360 for AAA exclusives.
