Started having the same thing. Froze twice yesterday, & once over the weekend. I wouldn't mind too much, but the console has to check/restore the file system every time Skyrim crashes now, & I've never seen that before in the 3 years I've had my PS3.

I agree. I've played Infamous twice through to get all the trophies, & was still enjoying it when I finished. I'm currently playing Prototype on the PC on high settings, & it looks awful compared to Infamous - Alex Mercer is the only bit of that game that looks like they took any time over it. It's so bland. On the gameplay front, I've played about 4 hours, & I'm not really getting into it - maybe it would be better with a console controller but I could find myself not being bothered if I don't finish it.

How about looking at this from the other side. How many launch 360's are now out of warranty, & how many DVD drives which aren't covered by the 3 year warranty, have now failed. People are buying 2nd units purely because they have a large game collection they want to keep. I don't think the average Joe in the street is aware of the reliability issues. I mean, Sony is constantly bashed (probably rightly so) for their lack of advertising, & the fact that people aren't aware of what the PS3 is, or does. It ain't like Microsoft are going to advertise their pride & joy's flaws. Unless Sony decide to point this out on tv in say, a comparison advertisement, who's gonna tell.

I think it's entirely possible that the RROD isn't hindering 360 sales, but as more units fail out of warranty it could be helping them. Also how many units that Microsoft have sold, are replacements for out of warranty dead units. It's hard to know how many working 360's are actually out there. How reliable are the 360's sales figures in relation to the life of the console?

This is just a theory so don't take me at my word, I could be completely wrong, but I do think there is an element of truth to it.
