@DanZillaUK: not everyone owns these games and Rogue Galaxy is cheaper in PS4 than it is to find a used copy. Don't even get me started on Dark Cloud 2. That game goes for like $40-50 online. If they did the first one, it's only a matter of time before they do the second one.

@girlusocrazy: sorry to break it to you but RE4 wasn't on Xbox.

@emptycow718: A few games were slightly worse but there weren't any real game breaking differences. The only 3rd party game that sucked on ps2 was splinter cell. Ps2 couldn't pull off real time lighting like the Xbox could (but then again that game was made with the Xbox in mind).

@DrunkenPunk800: they weren't much different aside from some muddier textures. I played it on PS2 and thought it was astounding. I had to watch a comparison video to even notice the differences. And if anything, PS2 emulation would make the game look a hell of a lot better.

@DrunkenPunk800: it's the best selling console of all time for a reason. It's library is unmatched, before Microsoft started coming along and buying rights to all the previously PS2 exclusive series: GTA, DMC, Metal Gear Solid, Resident Evil, Final Fantasy, etc. Origina Xbox had Halo, and Fable, but I could make a Top 100 ps2 games of all time off the top of my head.

@YohanDeEmercer: I am. If Sony releases Dark Cloud 2, it will be cheaper than any online copy.

@Barighm: Square is most likely going to remaster it like they have done with Kingdom Hearts and FFX/X-2, so it would make a PS2 rerelease redundant.
