@skyx26: how does that work when the game doesn’t have physical releases (as in like 99% of Steam games)? That sounds like a very old Steam policy when games still came out physically.

@gustavob: I think that's in Steam's TOS too tho. Unless you own the game on disc or buy it DRM-free, it's essentially a rental pending the closure of the service.
