Also Guild Wars 2 is heavily CPU bound and your core2quad is getting older by the minute, if you check out this:

Here you will see that the game really taxes the CPU just as much if not more than the GPU.

Doesn't matter the X2 version still doesn't have the hardware features of the series 5,6 or 7 cards. To be honest the 4870 is more closer to the minimum requirements spectrum than the top.

 

This. The HD 4870x2 is slower than a 128-bit HD 7750 that uses a fraction of power yet performs better in most games. The HD4870 X2 is very much obsolete by todays standards.
