I'm going to have to disagree with those of you that say that there aren't any worthwhile games on the system. There are more than a few worth hunting down. Here's a sampling...

  • Return Fire
  • Star Control II
  • Space Hulk
  • Cannon Fodder
  • Star Fighter
  • Super Street Fighter II Turbo
  • Gex
  • Guardian War
  • Lucienne's Quest
  • Wing Commander III
  • Phoenix 3
  • Captain Quazar
  • Killing Time
  • Alone in the Dark

There are more (I'll even admit that Psychic Detective is a guilty pleasure), but those are good places to start. They might look rather dated now, but if you scratch the surface a bit, you might find some good playing on the old 3DO.

If the game is online/WiFi capable, that's all you need (well, that and an access point). It's all handled in the game's software.

As for the DS browser, don't ever even bother. It's overpriced and its rendering speed is painfully slow on even basic sites.

The Castlevania and Final Fantasy series have cranked out great music for years. I have several of the soundtracks.

And for whomever mentioned Advent Rising, I have to agree. It has one of the best soundtracks I've heard in years. Yet another aspect of one of the most underrated games I've played.

Unless you really, really like looking at pictures, there isn't much point right now since it only serves as a backup storage. I'd like to see a firmware update that allows your SD card to act as actual expanded (real-time) storage, but we'll see.

As for Nintendo offering "free online storage," do you mean the ability to redownload the game whenever I want to? I've got about 20 blocks on my Wii (my blocks left is all RED, like a warning), and if that's what you mean, I don't find it to be a satisfactory solution. Having to delete a game from the internal memory in order to download a game from the WiiShop is about as cumbersome as backing them up to an SD card and swapping them when you need to. With as many channel "slots" as there are available on the Wii interface, it's obvious that Nintendo intented for you to fill them, but the storage is quite insufficient at this time. Hopefully they have something in the works...

I have yet to see a Wii "in the wild" at any store, nor have any friends of mine (in several states). I'd love to be able to pick up a few as gifts this holiday season (something I intended to do last Christmas), but I'm starting to wonder if they'll even be available this year.

It sounds like there are numbers of them in specific places, but between online vendors being constantly sold-out and local shops never having them in stock, I have no clue where these places are.
