I am SO MADthat a game like Backbreaker is overshadowed, simply because of a longtime franchise. Why don't people just accept Backbreaker owned madden? Backbreaker did exactly what people have been begging EA sports to do for last 10 years - Make the game more realistic. Now, for MY high school career in football, I played Middle linebacker, right? K, well everything I've learned over these years can be applied to the game, and it actually feels like I'm back on the field. "Read the guards, find the ball, scrape downhill, take an angle, break down, make the hit and wrap up". All these come into play in this game, unlike madden where you just sprint at the ball carrier and flick a hit stick causing fumbles 3/5 times. But thats not even the best part. Backbreaker has NO tackle animations, so EVERY. SINGLE. HIT. IS. DIFFERENT. Thanks to real physics being put into the game. but you know what? Don't take my word for it, go download the demo on your 360 or PS3 right now and don't expect it to feel like Madden at all. This game is like making the change to Tony Hawk Pro Skater to Skate, at first you'll hate that you suck, but once you get used to it you can never go back.
