Photography

ok - this is what I was going to write about in Ranting - I ended up changing the title in the end

I'm an amateur photographer (I think I can call myself that by now, though I'm not anywhere near sure), and have for a while now been a member over at deviantArt - but due to their rules regarding copyright and ownership, I haven't posted anything there.

in addition, one of the people that inspired me to pick up my camera again left a shortly before Christmas, mainly because of these rules, and are now looking for a new site to post on.

now I'm just starting to look myself, and in that process I'm just wondering if there's anyone here who already knows of a site, or would be interested to know of a site?

just to clarify: with site I mean somewhere anyone can post any work without worrying about loosing their work...

Ranting

well, I've just ranted somewhat in a post on the new Hardware Guide GS put up conserning the new World of Warcraft expansion pack - yeah, I'm still playing WoW - and being me, I can get a little harsh when it comes to professional incompetance.

ok, so maybe incompetance isn't the right word, and I'm sorry for being so harsh on you guys as GS, but still...

it's just that whenever I see the words hardware and guide, I expect those who write the guide to acctually come up with a guide - espesially when it concerns a game with very low system requrements compared to every other new game out there, or in this case an expansion pack that's still got the same low system requirements as the original game had.

what I mean to say is: if you're writing a guide to anything, why not write something helpful, instead of trying to get people to upgrade their systems un-nessecary?

oh no...

and here I thought I'd gotten it all out in the other post...

man, I'm sorry for continuing the rant here like this...

I think I'll end this one here - seems I'm only working myself into a seriously agitated state of mind - there's just so much more I could say about this particular subject...

again, I'm sorry if I got a bit carried away by this subject, and if I've offended you at GS by my rant. I still mean what I said, but I may have been a little harsh in choice of words, and for that I am sorry.

it's that time of year again...

hey y'all

i know i'm not the most avid poster in here, mostly due to me not feeling there's much happening in my life that's actually worth mentioning...

every once in a while though, i feel something is - and this is one of those times - Christmas has come and gone(for the most part) and, a little late it is, i wish you all a Merry Christmas.

now New Year's Eve's finally here, and though some of you have already finished celebrating by now, i hope y'all'll have a great New Year's Eve, and an even better new year.

on a more personal level, i've finally been able to afford a decent camera, so now i'll be out and about taking pictures of anything and everything - not that i'm a half-decent photographer, but i like taking pictures and once in a while one of them turns out nice...
oh, and i'll be posting a shot of my instruments shortly - for my friends over at the Musician's Union...

until then, see y'all on the other side

long time comin'

hey again haven't been here for a while now - been spending most of my time preparing for school, writing music, hanging out with my friends and playing, so i haven't really had time to this as well... i'm not gone though... anyhow, as i mentioned, i've been doing some writing(music) and have reached the point where i really need to get things out of my head - so if anyone have a suggestion for recording software that's easy to use/learn, i'm all ears other than that i'm back to school now - only one subject6, but it's a start. i'm doing english this year, so it really should'nt pose much of a problem, but hey - plenty to learn still oh, yeah, i've found out why wow wasn't too fun for me - i played the wrong character... i'm no warrior-type, so playing warrior was not my style - now i'm mage/druid/warlock and it's another world any tips on horror-movies will be appreciated...

ahh, well

that was one short trip...

well, what do you expect. you head out for spain, in a car across europe, spending most of your money just getting there, just to find out that the flat you're supposed to rent isn't available after all - despite prior arrangements...
just my luck I guess...

nice road-trip though, three days down, three nights there and three days back home again - a serious amount of fun while on the road

ahh, well, at least I get the summer at my father's place, 2 minutes walking distance from the sea, the sun is shining and the weather is sweet(to quote the late, great B.M.)...

I'm doing this again sometime... that I know...

but now my friends, have a continued great summer

Buenos dias, Espana

Well, last night I got the final word; I'm going to Spain. I can't believe it, but I'm acctually going to Spain - and for a month... I've never been longer than the german border, so this is exciting for me. new place, new expreiences - great!! Only downside to it is: I have to leave my bass behind. one whole Month without Touching a bass... but still, I'm off to Spain by next Saturday, so I'll manage. Three days on the road, one month there and three days back again - my kind of trip... other than that there's not much to tell; I've been trying to learn the tune that starts the ending-credit of Fantastic4, the one where Joss Stone sings - I just love the way the bass plays there, so I had to try, and still am trying, to learn that. I'm still trying out World of Warcraft; it's still not quite the game for me, but it's getting better - I suspect that FF XI might be a better choice for me though. And Freelancer just keeps getting better - and better. that's all for now I think, so if I don't post again before I leave, I wish you all a great summer

A little update

Well, I figured I had to go through and add my little collection of games. I think it's as complete as I can get it at the moment. Other than that there's not much news; that is, I did get word the other day that I'll be going away in about three weeks time - the destination is not completely fixed at the moment though. It's either my hometown Bergen or somewhere in Spain - Alicante I think. It all depends on whether or not my father, who I'm going with, can get someone to mind the dog while we're away. If not, I'm minding the dog for a month - which I won't mind at all. I've never been to Spain, so I don't know what I'm missing...

Second coming

nah, nothing like that - it's just time for my second post here... there isn't really happening that much in my life these days... well, I guess waiting for the final message as to whether or not I'm going to Spain for a month might count - I sure hope to go, as it will be my first time there. Other than that, I'm now checking out a new band for me - Shadows Fall. they're not that bad, but I think I'll have to hear them some more to really appreciate their style. oh, yeah, I'm trying out another game now - Galactic Civilizations II looks promising, but then I've just started so it can still go either way - I'll let you know though. keep the music in ya

A little about me

Hi. Since this is my first blog, ever, I'm not exactly sure what I'm supposed to write or not, but here goes. I'm a convert. By that I mean I've converted from PS/PS2 to pc, completely. When I got the computer, I started thinking - whether the ps2 still was for fun, or more a diversion. I ended up selling my ps2, and completely and utterly concentrate on the computer, once again. I figured I'd be able to play games here as well, so what use did I have for a console. It got a happier life somewhere else. That said, I'm now looking for RPG's and racing games for pc, and since I've been out of commission for some years, I'm a bit overwhelmed by choices, so if anyone have a suggestion on either game-types, I'll appreciate any comment. My old favourites from ps2 was FFX and Gran Turismo, so I'm looking for games like that for pc. I'll leave it at that, for now Kev
