My wii, I have it for two weeks now, it freezes a lot, after playing Super Smash Brawl for a few hours it froze when I was about to fight the final boss. I found out how ever it is not the long play time that caused my wii to freeze to a stop. The wii connect 24 7 is on standby, it will cause overheating even when the nintendo wii is on standby, the best thing to do is to shut the wii down completely, or you can disable the wii connect 24 7 in the wii settings. If you do not want to do any of these obtions, you can get a usb fan that connects to the back of the wii console, but be aware, some thrid party fans will become nosiely and use even more power. Overheating can cause the CPU and GPU to overheat and damage the internal componts.
