First, I read earlier some one saying 50 a month. It is 50 a year. So that equates to less than 5 dollars a month. So if you have to complain about 5 dollars a month that is sad.
Second. Live features are useful but I don't think you are willing to put the money into buying games and movies and music videos. The features are great. Talking to eight of my friends while playing different games or watching a movie or just searching thru the marketplace.Getting tips and cheats for games directly from IGN.com. New games like 1v100 are coming out where you can play with alot of people, almost a mmo of some sorts. Sharing pics and video chatting with friends is good. Being able to watch netflix movies with other friends is coming.
Third. paying for Xbox live is like paying for dvr service from cable, getting features on your phone like Caller ID or Call Waiting, paying a subscription to play WOW or FF, getting HBO and STARZ channels on TV.
A lot of people complain about paying 5 dollars a month for Live but those people are either cheap or nic-picking. Blaming the features for you paying is a cop out because if you use the features you will see how useful they are. If you don't use the features then you either play alone or play offline more than online. I have a PS3 and the online on their is fine. But I won't complain about 5 dollars a month is Sony decided to charge that. You either do or don't.If you go to MCDonalds 1 less time a month or don't buy the fatty snacks from the store, you can use the money to pay for it. I look at it as a payment for fun like going to a amusement park and paying to go on the waterslides.
