Hulk Hogan: The Ultimate Anthology DVD Review

Well it's been awhile since I wrote in my blog. Let's cut to the chase, my review of Hulk Hogan DVD. Now, I notice out there that there is 3 version of his DVD out. One of them being only three disc set, while the other two contains four disc set, with one being an extra bonus matches, and the other containing a "Hogan Knows Best" episodes. I happen to pick up the one with his show. Whatever copy you got, you got to see some of his best career matches. Let's begin with the review.

Disc 1

Hulk Hogan vs. Andre the Giant 9/13/80: This was their first fued from the olden days of the WWWF, I believe. It was quick and short with Andre getting busted open. I believe Hogan was a heel or so because he had Hennan as his manager. ** out of 4.

Hulk Hogan vs. Nick Backwinkel for the AWA Championship 4/24/83: This was Hogan first major title championship match. This had some nice back and forth battle, and Hogan was the face. Hogan was supposed to win until the decision was reverse because throwing your opponent over the top rope was a "disqualification!" I was like, "that was bulls*$#!" Well I guess that was the rules of the hayday. ** 1/2 out of 4.

Hulk Hogan vs. Iron Sheik for the WWE Championship 1/23/84: This is the night Hulk Hogan became the man. This match was all out wrestling and Sheik did his best to hold Hogan down, but in the end, Hogan came out with the win with his patent boot to the face and a leg drop. *** out of 4.

Hulk Hogan vs. Big John Studd for the WWE Championship 9/22/84: Hogan was seriously get his ass man-handle in this match. Studd refuse to get body slam by Hogan or anyone else for that matter. At the time, Studd put up $10,000 for any man able to body slam him, which we all know went to Andre. Well nevertheless, this was a good match to watch and Hogan coming out with a win. **1/2 out of 4.

Hulk Hogan vs. "Rowdy" Roody Piper 2/18/85: This match was a prelude to what will become an ultimate match at WM 1 with Mr. T and Paul Orndorff in the main event. This match was crazy. Brawl and commotion from all corners and sides of the ring. Pretty much an all out fight. That is being said for the next match. *** out of 4.

Hulk Hogan and Mr. T vs. "Rowdy" Roody Piper and Paul Orndorff 3/31/85: Like I said before this, this match also had brawl and less wrestling. This time we got celebritiy like Cyndi Lauper getting involve, along with Mulhammod Ali as the special enforcer and Snuka and Bob Orton getting on the side of their respective buddies. I enjoy this one here from the very first WM. **** out of 4.

Hulk Hogan vs. King Kong Buddy in a Steel Cage for the WWE Championship 4/7/86: I thought this match was okay with its share of moments of blood from King Kong buddy and Hennan trying to get involve. In the end, the immortal one was able to prevail. This is one of the venue of the three that was broadcast on PPV for WM 2. ** out of 4.

Hulk Hogan vs. "Mr. Wonderful" Paul Orndorff 8/28/86: This match took place in front of 70,000 something crowd in Toronto crowd at an outside stadium. This match was good with the same stuff pull from Hogan and Orndorff. ** 1/2 out of 4.

Hulk Hogan vs. Andre the Giant for the WWE Championship 3/29/87: This was the match everyone in the Pontiac Stadium and the world wanted to see. We all know what happen on this night when Hogan stun the world by bodyslamming Andre. They really pull a great match together for a size of Andre and the strength of Hogan. Hogan retain his title here at WM 3. **** out of 4.

Disc 2 and 3 review will be up tomarrow as I don't want to stretch this review too long out, and I don't want to make you guys suffer for reading this little old, long blog from yours truly. Enjoy this review for now.
