I have to admit Mario party 8 is really a great game. I played Mario party 1-5. I recently got Mario party 8 this passed saturday. Played with a group of friends. At first glance it felt off but after the last 5 rounds i have to say is what made me get into it. Even thou the game is made up mostly of luck thats the aspect of what I like about it. No one can be perfect at the game it can be anyones game. For the 1st game we had, I easily took the win on "Goomba's Booty Boardwalk". Since we where used to the old gameplay of Mario party a lot of us where disappointed. The board was just one straight line and it mostly took on wining mini games for coins and buying double/thrice candy. After a short pizza break we tried "King Boo's Haunted Hideaway" and this was the board that showed us the key difference between this game and the last ones. Since i never played 6 and 7 i dont know if its similar in gameplay but this board showed us the new gameplay of the game and in way we can like. "Koopa's Tycoon Town" was the last map we tried for the night and we ultimately loved it alot and by far was all our fave.
Mario Party 8 is another mini game compilation for the Wii. I know they seem to be rolling out these games every other week. With alot of competetion out there I believe mario party holds own in its own way. The game has no nunchuk support which limits you to just using the wiimote. There will only be 4 or 5 positions for you to use. What makes it stick from other games is what mario party is always been about and thats the friends you bring and being in the lead in one round and falling to fourth the next ground. Alone the game can be fair but with the right environment it will be a blast. As for the end result I've yet to really dig into the game since i only played it for about a day or so. I will put some time 2morrow and get a feeling for the single player i dont have high hopes for it but some1s gotta unlock the stuffs.
