xbox 360 and ps3 have hardware form early 2005 yet they are still charging as much for them as midrange pc hardware from today the destorys them.

a pc with a fast dual core cpu, 2gb ddr2 800, gefore 9600gt 320gb hdd, dvd writter can be had for less than the 40gb ps3 and for the price of the 80gb you could easily get a 8800gt or even gts.

until ps3 and x360 are under $250 lems and cows can't call the wii over priced

nohnaimer

Including a Blu Ray drive? Let me know where I can purchase this PC.

Sure it's missing a BR drive, but the poster's PC have a much larger hard drive, a graphics card thats easily 3 times more powerful than the RSX etc.. so you lose some and gain some

Learn tech. I know it. The 9600gt freaking sucks. Oh, and let me know where I can get at least a 2.4ghz duo, 2 gb ddr2 800, a 320gb hdd, and a dvd writer for less than $400.

Here, let me add it up to you off of newegg prices...
Good 9600GT-- $165
Processor(Needs to be a Conroe 2.4ghz, others suck): $230
Motherboard: Approx $50-75
320gb HDD: $70
2gb DDR2 800: $37
DVD writer: $18

Total: $570

Not including case, monitor, sound card, or speakers.

Add $100 for case, and $670.

Now, account for the fact that the Cell processor is 5x as powerful as the best Intel Quad Core out there, worth over $1000. The RSX does suck, but the Cell is more than enough to account for it.

Well, I've seen some of the screens for Final Fantasy 13 and they look pretty amazing, but...

FFX is the only Final Fantasy game I've ever played and I thought it was a disaster. It led you by the hand the entire game, it was artificially lenghtened by random encounters and bosses with never-ending amounts of energy, it discouraged exploration at every turn, the gameplay/cutscene ratio was unacceptable, there was no gameplay mechanic outside of fighting and walking, there was no puzzles, it was riddled with annoying characters, etc.

My question is: is there any reason to believe FF13 will be any different? Were any of the other FF games different gameplay-wise? Is it true that it is a trend for FF games to vary in gameplay mechanics from iteration to iteration?

I want to be excited for FF13, but FFX left an extremely bad taste in my mouth. Is there any gameplay info that will convince me to give the FF series another chance?

Tragic_Kingdom7

Try out Crisis Core: FFVII on a PSP. It's fun, and I expect FFXIII VERSUS to go that way, or close to it, but with minor improvements. It's really a new gameplay type for FF games, and it's really fun.

BTW, IMO, FFXII was a disaster(wasn't addicting D:). I liked FFX.

However, if it's being developed by the same team as FFXII, hopefully they'll fix the... quirks.. with their system, and FFXIII(non-versus) will turn out to be really fun too.

No mention of Starcraft/Warcraft/C&C/halo 1/dune/Jedi Knight/Diablo?

The lack of RTS's on everyone's lists disturbs me.

Cept MTBare's.

it would probabaly be overrated, overpriced ... and every person who has half a brain would not buy it.

... screw apple ...

humber_matus

Bu...but it would be stylish. Because who cares about performance if it looks cool?

Isn't it better that games get pushed back?

1) You get more time to complete your other games

2) The game is obviously still being developed, you wouldn't want developers to do a rush job, wouldn't you. Just like GTA4, despite the glitches, imagine what would have happened if they had released it last year instead of this? :?

3) There's something to look forward to. More previews would likely be released as a game gets dragged. Something to wait forward to =)

You are my hero.

And people wonder why Blizzard never even announces a game until they're nearly done with it? It's all due to this pressure... that leads them to never set a release date till the game is essentially golden already too.

What's with the FFVII hate?! Admittedly I liked 8 and 9 better, but I've actually gone BACK to 7 to re-play it I like it so much. I guess it was just the fact that it was the true start for 3D FF games. I also love Crisis core on my PSP, and the Advent Children movie.

FFVII: Crisis Core is currently my favorite Final Fantasy game though-- I love the new style of gameplay they implemented it-- it's like FFXII's, but significantly better in every way shape and form. Only works with one character though. I expect to see a slightly better version of it yet in FFXIII Versus.

^^Homemade portable PS2.

You'd be surprised how many people do this DIY stuff, there are even mods to give the PSP two functioning analog sticks, along with various other nice features.

[QUOTE="superjim42"][QUOTE="UnnDunn"]

So the 360 version of GTA IV has:

  • Higher resolution
  • Faster framerates
  • No 5-minute installation
  • Faster initial load time
  • Achievements
  • Multiplayer that works
  • Exclusive DLC.

Whereas the PS3 version of GTA IV has

  • Sixaxis control
  • Slightly faster mission load times
  • Less pop-in

So why would any dual-console owner want to buy the PS3 version, again? millwrought

faster frame rates i dont think so. also the 5 minute install time helped the ps3 version load quicker. also the ps3 verison looks better with its lower resolution haha the irony

Not really rock-solid proof, but: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GaSJsg1LQk8

Meh, close to indifferent.

Also, I'd like to see proof on the "faster framerates" and "higher resolution".

Achievements are meant to make you feel good? I own both a 360 and PS3, and many games for each, but I don't give one little bit about achievements, hence why even though I play my 360 somewhat, my gamerscore is still under 1000. I've had it for a year and a half. I don't take enjoyment in that boring stuff.

PS3 multiplayer "doesn't work"? =|

Riiiight.

Q_Q no God of War 3?! :(

IMO Far Cry 2-- #1, they're using the Crysis engine if I'm correct.

Killzone 2-- #2.

I don't have a #3, so many that could tie for it..
