Gamespot Layout Update

I'm sure you guys have seen this new layout update (and if you haven't, get your head out of your ass. Seriously.) What do you all think of it? I personally find it very sleek looking. ^_^

Gamespot Ranks

Hey guys!

So, what's up with these weird names for the Gamespot ranks? Level 4: Rank: Paper Boy....

Why Paper Boy? What does that even mean? I spend time on Gamespot, thus they deduce that I deliver newspapers for extra cash? Where's the logic in that?

Level 5: Rank: Tapper.. What the hell do I tap? My foot? What am I tapping here? Or am I one of those hacker dudes who "tap" into restricted radio signals or some other crap? I mean, seriously...

Okay, Im done ranting about these awkward rant names now. :P

Anyone else notice all the 7.5's?

Hey guys, Alright. I was just browsing the mainpage of Gamespot, you know. Looking at new games, checking reviews, scratching my 455 when I notice something. Medal of Honor - 7.5 Fable III - 7.5 Fallout New Vegas - 7.5 Kinect Sports - 7.5 Does look a bit strange to you? Do you notice anything? That's right, all these games have the same rating! Although the quality of each is drastically different, in my opinion. Medal of Honor is a waste of time, Fable III kept me engrossed for days, New Vegas was buggier than a swamp, and Kinect Sports was just plain unpretentious fun. What's up Gamespot? Are we getting lazy with reviews? I hope you guys realize that you're one of the leading game reviewing websites, and your review in final word to a lot of people. Their first and last impression of a game is the score you gave it. Im finding myself not able to trust your reviews anymore. CoD: Black Ops... 9.0. Okay, if Fable III gets a 7.5 and Black Ops gets a 9.0 there's something wrong. New Vegas has technical issues, but you guys review it the day it comes out. Obsidian and Bethesda acknowledge that it got a pre-mature release and the Obsidian QA team are lazy SOBs.. Give it a break! So what if it has glitches? It's the game that counts. Wait a couple months, and Im sure this game will become as good as Fallout 3. I don't know about popularity, because this hit em hard, but I know about quality, and New Vegas definitely has some. Gamespot, get your stuff right. Don't be as lazy as the Obsidian QA Team. Do your research, get a proper review in, one that's honest, and for heavens sake ignore technical issues! If you get the game 15 years before its in stores, you're basically doing the job of the testers, what do you expect?

Going To Start Reviewing

Hey fellas, Okay, after a day or so, my Gamespot status will finally reach level 3, meaning I'll finally be able to review! Im glad, because this was actually my primary reason for joining. I play games. I like to write. Game reviewing combines those two skills, and is perfect for me. Im still torn wether or not to be a serious reviewer, or to be all crazy like the Angry Video Game Nerd, and just cuss out every game! XD I'll stick to classic reviewing for now. :P My first review shall be of Fable III. I actually finished and wrote the review 2 days after buying it. (And I bought it on launch day) But since I couldn't submit the review, I had to wait. :( The Gamespot review underrates the game so much, technical issues can be dealt with in patches! Why can't you guys understand that?! >:(

Diving into the World of Warcraft

Hey guys, Yeah, I know. Im incredibly late to the party, but I have finally purchased the "World of Warcraft" along with the "Burning Crusade" expansion. I really don't even know where to start with this huge game. Races, classes, ahhh!! It's good I got the game guide with it though. This is definitely worthy of all the gleaming reviews it received though. It does one thing better than all other MMORPGs. It keeps you involved. It's not like one of those games where you can't do anything until you reach a certain level. It's fun no matter where you are. I know plenty of games where your target is to reach a certain level in order to become capable of anything. It's not the case here, and I love it. I would write a review for it, but it's already gotten so many good ones, I don't think it need another.

Xbox 360 Kinect Dashboard Update

Hey Guys, Anyone else seen the new Xbox 360 Dashboard update? If not, check it out and see it for yourself. In my opinion it's absolutely hideous! What happened to all the curves, and beautiful shadows and reflections? It used to as beautiful as a game itself! Oh well, I guess they're preparing it for Kinect. Who wants a Kinect anyway? What is it? A Eyetoy and Wii hybrid? If I wanted those, I would've bought them, why does the 360 have to turn into one? The skin texture is absolutely horrible, and the fonts have changed, which isn't inherently a bad thing, but I was used to the old one. I miss it, in fact. The avatar change is welcome however, the avatars don't look nearly as cartoony as before. Wether that's a good thing or a bad thing, it depends on your own personal preference. Im okay with it.
