Kholdstare_fire Blog

Hello

Hai i'm b, I play games. Sab never found this blog, and never will. I plan on attending Warped this year, just got out of a serious relationship (b*tch is a c*nt,) and City and Colour rapes.

Grey Machine is supposedly going to write, record, and play shows, and play with Algernon. Algernon Cadwallader is gewd too. I have a position working at Chapel Pointe of Carlisle. I'm a project helper for the cleaning company. I'm getting my Audi A4 back in a few weeks and I couldn't be more excited. Also, I play drums.

Here's me:

Rank 24 is beat

I gotta get off this rank fast, so I'll write a blog entry:

Tell me why you lied
And what it is you do to keep your eyes all shiny

Colin Meloy has one of the most unique voices in the entire world, I wish I was more like him!  This weekend was amazing.  I went to a concert to see one of my favorite bands in the world, The Decemberists.  It all started about 3 o'clock on Saturday with a trip to Matty C's house.  Everyone was there, including Neil and his friend from school.  We sang songs and played guitars for about 2 hours (mostly Decemberists songs) and then around 5:30 we headed for Messiah College.

You should know that getting to Messiah takes about three turns, if that.  Anyway, we got lost.  We got so lost we were asking drunk bikers on the side of a backroad.  Then we got lost (cause they didn't have a clue where they were either) and we stopped and asked some other random guy.  He lead us in the right direction and then we realized how stupid we were.  Well we got to Messiah and waited a little for the show to begin.  We got a pretty good spot on the floor about 20 feet from the stage.

The opening band was ok, but I couldn't wait for the Decemberists.  The wait was fully worth it.  They played a really amazing set but the best part was after the show.  We staked out their tour busses and got the meet all the members of the band!  I got pictures with Colin Meloy and John Moen, their drummer.  I also got all of their autographs.  The coolest part was that there were only about 20 people waiting for them and when they came out they all talked to us for about 15-20 minutes.  It was amazing.  So that was fun, then I played drums in church, and, after getting 3 hours of sleep, I played pretty poorly.

The Established is doing well with a few new sounds, practicing in Jake's basments, and jamming with matt.  ALL SHINY!

Razer Tarantula

I got a new keyboard and I'm trying to get used to all it's new awesomeness.  By the title of the blog you can tell that I got Razer's new gaming keyboard, the tarantula.  I bought it was a bunch on money I had left over from Christmas and I  have to say it's pretty sweet.  But it's also surprising me how much work it's going to take to get used to it.  The keyboard is "hyper-responsive" which basically means all the keys are super sensitive.  When I typed in Google for the first time it came out goooogle.com.  I wasn't expecting the keys to work that well.  It also takes a little less pressure to press the keys, so I'm finding that a little difficult when using shift or ctrl or tab.  Like yesterday in CSS I was walking but I started running randomly.  I had no idea why because I thought I was still pressing down the key. . .I wasn't.  In a critical situation that would have cost me but luckily there were no enemies in lower A of Contra yesterday at that time.  As I type this I'm getting more used to using the keyboard, I'm sure it'll be fine in a week or so.  Hopefully it only positively affects my game, not the other way around.  Oh there is one really annoying new thing the keyboard is doing.  I guess my desk isn't straight or something, because the keyboard is sorta moving around....lame.  It's not the bottom on the keyboard's fault, it's the desk.  The place where you rest your palms on the board is also a little big for my taste, but that's only compared to my other board.  Like I said, we'll see how every thing turns out.

Whoa sir!

New CSS team, Overpowered (#overpowered) seems to be doing quite well.  We still have to get our starting five down but as of now with sabbb, bzerk, depo, richard, and an unknown fifth we're not doing too shabby.  We played CSElite yesterday and it was a good scrim.  We didn't use any strats because, well, we don't have any written yet but we got a lot of rounds on these Cal-Main playoff guys.  The final score was 19-11 but our performance was the only thing that counts.  We held our own against these guys, and they were good.  They are going into the second round of main playoffs, which basically means they have a good chance of going main.

So the CSE guys are idling our channel, and this cove kid got a lot of players to idle also.  I made up a spam for idling and some of the guys have been throwing that around.  We'll see how this team does, but everyone is thinking we're going to roll open, and make main no problem.  Of course, that's what we said with Team.über, of course overpowered is already aLOT better than uber ever was (and we were a 4-0 team for a while.)

Well comment on this blog post how the team goes, I'm hoping all goes well.  I'll be putting more dedication in this time.

Zunes Are Cool

I want a Zune.  That way I could fit ALL my music on there and not just 170 songs.  I want a brown one, that's so indie.  I really like the upgradable firmware, they will most likely add a feature or two I'll like.  I'm such a fanboy optimist....but that's a good thing.  Life is all attitude, if you have a good one you'll have a good life.  Remember that later, self!

Vista!!

Today Microsoft FINALLY made the CPP open to the public and I'm already downloading vista!!  I already have the 64-bit version and I'm downloading the 32-bit version (at an amazing 700 kb/s average!)  I can't wait to try this thing out it's gonna be amazing!  I already got a product key from Microsoft, so I'll be using vista till it comes out in January (but maybe I'll stay with RC1, I've heard it's good.)  I'll update this blog with details on the amazing-ness of Vista after I get it installed and run it for a while.  Don't know if I'll be using 64 or 32 bit though...

September 16th: Ordering official version of vista RC1 from Microsoft.  My installs have been failing from "missing files."  I think either the download was corrupt or the DVD burn didn't go well.  Ordering it from M$ is worth the $3.00, no doubts.

September 28th: Still no vista, this is so slow!

October 11th: Vista is up and running, I've have been using as my main OS for about a week now.  When I first got the CD it was showing the same problems as before, my drive was going bad.  So I used my brothers drive to install it and it worked like a charm.  It's so nice it's amazing!  I just helped my friend install it on his computer, he's loving it too.

For looking back's sake.

I haven't played games in a while.  Recently I've just wanted to spend time with friends and listen to music and the like.  I started dating a girl I really like so that's basically taking priority over gaming.  I do think I'll get back into gaming when things become more steady.  I can also blame my lack of gaming on school.  Honor Calc isn't the easiest class in the world, but it's not that bad either.  I need to put some games on the Ti-89, then I'll be a hardcore gamer again haha.

My New Computer

New beast of a machine that I built after being fed up with low fps =D...

AMD Athlon X2 4800+

Sapphire Radeon X1900XTX

2 GB OCZ Platinum Memory

WD Raptor

SoundBlaster X-Fi Fatality

This machine pretty much plays everygame at full settings.  Everygame that's out right now that is.  I bought a DFI LAN party Crossfire board with it too.  In the future I'll CF that beast and it'll be even more amazing.  I was just playing F.E.A.R. today with all settings maxed and I was playing music.  WMP is a real memory hog and F.E.A.R. was still running a smooth 80-90 fps.  I love my new dual core and X1900 :)  It's also very ready for Vista, I can't wait!

Re-formatting

again.  I can't believe my computer just totally crapped out.  I didn't notice it for a while because I was mostly into music for a while there.  But, when I play a game now, instead of getting 120-130 fps in CS, I get 15-25 max.  This is incredibly frustrating and I have no idea what's going on.  I already tried re-installing the video drivers.  I even used Driver Cleaner combined with safe mode.  I have messed with a lot of BIOS settings and it's not anything in there.  So in the end I am going to re-format my computer.  Ugh this process is bad.

On a lighter note, I'm re-formatting my computer, yay!!  I love doing this in some respects because it's always nice to start over and know it doesn't get better than this.  It'll boot faster, load things faster, play music faster, play games with better fps.  I think I'll get back into playing CSS a lot more.  I just played it today on my brothers computer (AIW X800 Pro) and it was amazing.  It was like playing CS for the first time, even though my X850 Xt Pe should be able to play it fine....  Oh well, I'm going to update after I re-format, I hope it works.

*Update*  Didn't work.  I'm going to take it to the local computer shop (Blue Tek) and see what they can do.  If that doesn't work I'm going to buy me an X1900 XT!
