Unless your looking at running SLI, drop down the PSU and get a aftermarket cooler.

Hello gents,

I'm currently running on a Q600 and a 9800gt, now with such games as Battlefield 3 and Skyrim coming out. I'm pretty sure my current system will just give up even trying to run them. My new Rig Below should be able to run everything fine right?Of course i'm limited by a budget, i should hopew this will be enough?

Corsair Enthusiast Series TX750 V2 '80 Plus Bronze' Power Supply

EVGA Nvidia Geforce GTX570 HD 1280 MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card

Intel Core i5-2500k 3.30GHz (Sandybridge) Socket LGA1155 Processor - Retail

ASUS P8Z68-V Intel Z68 Chipset (Socket 1155) DDR3 Motherboard B3 REV

8GB (2x4GB) Corsair DDR3 XMS3 PC-1333 Memory

I'll be using the same HDD and Case. It can't get any better than this build right? I'm a bit skeptical, that's why i hope you guys can give me the final confirmation and finally buy the damned rig :). Thanks a lot in advance. :)

In my experience SLI is worth it only if you plan to purchase two high-end cards at the same time. Rarely with single-cards is it worthwhile to upgrade at a later date because, by then, a superior card has been released that makes the SLI setup obsolete. It's a nice motherboard regardless; I'm only speaking to buying it for SLI, specifically.

Also review the power draw of all those components; you may be approaching the limits of that 600W power supply, and you definitely want some head room.

Good luck,

Boz

I'm Going for this card then and a 700w PSU.

MSI GeForce GTX 560Ti OC Twin FrozR II

Asus P8P67 PRO Intel P67
Asus GeForce GTX 460 1024MB
OCZ StealthXStream 2 600W PSU
Coolermaster Elite 430
Corsair XMS3 4GB (2x2GB) DDR3 1600MHz Dual Channel

This should be it, i having some second thoughts about mobo,a one without SLI support would be fine too, I'm not plannning on going dual cards anyway. I know this might be too much but could someone point me to good alternative ? I'm buying from http://www.overclockers.co.uk/productlist.php?groupid=701&catid=5&subid=1906

Regards.

It's a nice build, and will be fast.. But if this is a gaming rig, you broke a cardinal rule- Never spend more on your CPU than your GPU.

Hi all this is my final build,

Intel Core i5-2500K
Asus P8P67 PRO Intel P67
Asus GeForce GTX 460 1024MB
OCZ StealthXStream 2 600W PSU
Coolermaster Elite 430
Corsair XMS3 4GB (2x2GB) DDR3 1600MHz Dual Channel

That's it, i'm a bit sketchy about the case but i really don't want to go for anything fancy and i want it to fit under my desk too  and the PSU should be enough. Any suggestions or tips are welcome!

Regards.

So I've decided to get a GTX460, I've narrowed it down to either http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=GX-068-GI or https://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=GX-064-GI My max resolution is 1680x1050, I'm more leaning on the 768mb one. People say it's only 1-4 fps different. Regards.

An Asus P5QC , also let's say i'd replace my current PSU with a one with lower power, would there be any harm done to the computer? I'm saying this because i've been hearing a bit of humming noises coming from my computer and my main suspect is the PSU. Thanks for the help

So you recommended it right? I'm afraid that it won't go well with the rest of my setup

Hi all, This is my current rig: Core2Quad Q6600 @ 2.40GHz 6GB DDR2 RAM Nvida 9800gt 700W PSU I was thinking of getting a GTX460, specifically this card https://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=GX-064-GI . Do you think it's a good upgrade? my 9800gt is starting to show it's age now, in games like World of Warcraft, i get some low frame rates in the cataclysm areas. and I'm also playing games like Bad Company 2 and others.
