Alright, well I've been at it for a few days, and have solved a few problems with my machine, but none of them have alleviated the frequent display freezing on my new build. I am 100% positive that it is an issue with my RAM, since changing around the Timings and voltagesalways changes theaffects on my system(for better or for worse) and when I run a blend test on Prime95, it almost immediately locks up my system.

Sorry, that was just in my overclocking menu. My CPU Vcore is running at 1.20~1.21-ish. I think the CPU in my menu is to increase/

decrease the cpu voltage. should I increase it at all, or leave it as it is.

It sucks not having internet access, so I'm having a hard time tunning temperature tests and all that noise, but I'm reasonably certain that it is a problem with my ram setup in my bios. It is a clean OS install, and I am using a REALLY strange set of ram that is supposed to run at 1066 mhz, 2.2~2.3 V and has timigs of either 5-5-5-15 or 5-5-5-18 based on where you check online. Now, I started tinkering around in my bios, and I was able to aggravate the problem further by setting the voltages and timings (which I thought was a little odd). I would be entirely unable to load my desktopand I would get critical failures doing even the most mundane of tasks like accessing windows recovery. Eventually I set everything back to stock settings and it runs fairly well now, but still gets freezing issues every few hours or so. I posted my complete set-up above (and for giggles will again here), I was wondering if anyone could tell me what my bios settings SHOULD be.

Processor: Intel Core 2 quad 8200 at 2.33 GHZ

Memory: OCZ reaper PC8500 HPC edition 2x2048

I'm running XFX bios version 1.4B1

According to my default settings for my mobo I have, as follows

FSB Clock: 1333mhz

Memory Clock (Mhz): 800

CPU voltage:0

Memory Voltage: 1.9

VTT FSB: 1.2

NB Voltage 1.24

This may sound stupid, but what in my bios do I need to set up for my video card?

Alright, I'm going to reset the cmos, and get my RAM cleared back to 800 mhz, 1.9 v like it was originally. Hopefully then I can get a clean install of windows up and running and I can get a memory stress test going (for the time being the freezing occurs so fast that I cannot even get into windows, it freezes on the "Starting windows" screen). At that point I'll try to get my bios updated. Here's to hoping that helps.

The ram is from an old build, it actually got tested before they sent it to me. I'm going to give it a try with just one stick though.

Alright, I built this new rig and I am getting MASSIVE freezing issues. I freeze in safe mode, I freeze in normal mode, I even freeze when running boot disks. The rig is as follows.

CPU: Q8200 @2.3

PSU 750 Watt Corsair

GFX card: GeForce 9800 GTX

MOBO: XFX 750i SLI

Ram: http://www.ncix.com/products/?sku=28786&vpn=OCZ2RPR10664GK&manufacture=OCZ%20TechnologyOCZ reaper 8500 2x2048

I gave a little extra info on the ram because I am ALMOST positive that my ram set-up is incorrect in my BIOS. I manuallymatched the voltages and frequencies on the RAM in the bios (bios was at 800, 1.9V and I changed it to 1066 2.2V), can anyone else think of anything that I need to do to fix this issue?

See, I tried the event viewer already, and according to that thing, besides unplugging a USB drive when I shouldn't have, my computer is running tip-top. None of the freezes show up in the event viewer.

Scratch that. It looked for a while like it worked, but soon after I started to run the computer normally freezing problems have resurfaced again. Any other suggestions?

I am in the middle of building a computer and I am having a problem getting it to detect my hard-drives. I have one old hard-drive (removed from an old computer that died) that currently has Windows XP and a bunch of mostly unimportant files on it, and one brand new Seagate hard-drive. Now on my motherboard (http://www.ncix.com/products/?sku=29440&vpn=123-YW-E175-A1&manufacture=eVGA) I have A0, A1, B0, B1 sata connections, currently both hard-drives are connected A0, A1 and only the older hard-drive is being read by the MOBO. Unfortunately, it freezes immediately after loading windows, so I have no access to it, and I'm trying to install a new fresh copy of windows and it is not detecting any hard-drives in my computer. Do the hard-drives need to be connected A0, B0, or can you suggest any other fixes to this problem.
