With there being no system requirement for this anymore, I see no reason for it being a requirement to be in the box. Why should I pay for something I do not need or want, that is also no longer even required.

Is there a reason other than to cover the development costs? I'd say there probably isn't, which is not a reason I see for paying them the extra cash. I'm still not sold on this farce of a system.
