Yeah yeah, who can forget Kaneda's slick looking red bike! Warner Bros and Appian Way (Leonardo DiCaprio production company) had recently re-acquired the rights to produce a live-action movie of Katsuhiro Otomo's greatest masterpiece, Akira. The movie will be a duology (produce into 2 movies) based on all the volumes of the manga, and directed by Ruaiari Robinson (The Silent City), and scripted by Gary Whitta (Book of Eli). However, the setting of the movie will be switch over to New Manhattan (a rebuilt city that was destroyed 31 years ago), instead of following the original manga storyline, which was set as Neo-Tokyo. Up until now, no cast had been been announce — so keep your shirt on for more updates, until its final release in summer 2009! ^__^
