Top 15 Saddest Movie Moments

It's been a long time since I've actually finished one of these. I've actually been planning to do this one for a long time. Just to let you know, there's going to be a lot of deaths in this list.

15.) The death of Flag in The Yearling (Comments: I never could take whenever an animal in a movie died. I still sometimes get choked up when I watch this movie. I never even felt it necessary to kill the deer in the first place. It never hurt anybody.)

14.) The "When She Loved Me" song from Toy Story 2 (Comments: There is a scene in Toy Story 2 in which Jessie sings this song describing how her beloved owner Emily matured into a teenager - and no longer played with toys - thereby abandoning Jesse under her bed - years later when the toy was rediscovered, Jesse's hopes were dashed when Emily left her in a charity donation box on the side of the road.

13.) The death of Harry Osbourne in Spiderman 3 (Comments: I don't know why, but I find that a character losing a friend is almost as sad as animals dying in a movie. I think that this wouldn't be as sad if it were silent.)

12.) The ending of E.T. (Comments: I think a lot of people have this as one of their saddest moments. You just get so...emotionally attached to E.T. and when it's time for him to go, you just put yourself in Eliot's shoes. Hey, at least he didn't die, right?)

11.) Tom Sennett's funeral in My Girl (Comments: This girl pretty much has her life ruined. Her only friend dies, his funeral is in her living room, her dad is the undertaker for Sennett's body, and she finds out that the teacher she has a crush on is getting married, all in the same day.)

10.) The death of Little Foot's mother in The Land Before Time (Comments: I think a lot of people were saddened by this moment. It actually made me feel sorry for something that's been dead for over 100 million years.)

9.) The death of the Mole in South Park: Bigger Longer Uncut (Comments: It's not so much the death that's sad, it's the song the Mole sings that's so sad. Naturally, it's Cartman's fault. He forgot to turn the alarm off and the Mole was mauled by guard dogs.)

8.) That one scene from Dumbo (Comments: The scene I'm referring to is the one where Dumbo is sad and Timothy takes him to see his mother. Dumbo's mother had been locked up in a crate for attacking a boy who lifted up Dumbo's ear and blew into it. Dumbo is too small to see his mother, and his mother is shackled to the wall. She sticks her trunk out the window if the crate and rocks Dumbo.)

7.) The death of Captain John Miller in Saving Private Ryan (Comments: The sacrificial death of Captain Miller and his dying words: "Earn this James. Earn it" and the scene 50 years later, with an old James Ryan standing at Miller's grave with his wife is a common sad moment among film lovers.)

6.) The death of Mufasa in the Lion King (Comments: I first saw the Lion King when I was five years old and cried when Mufasa was killed. This movie was actually where I first learned of the existance of death.)

5.) John Coffey's execution in The Green Mile
