Absolutely nothing. I guarantee my weekend has been officially ruined because of that. I thought it was going to be a good idea to go out last night despite knowing I had a big team meeting at work today. 'Cause then I could go home after and go to sleep, but no, I'm not tired right now apparently. God only knows I will be by the evening though. I can't live off of two and a half hours of sleep. There are REASONS I go to bed at 8 or 9 every night, because I'm a wussy who loves to sleep, no matter what!
Good news for me though, which I'm really happy about surrounding work. First and formost, hours are steadily climbing back up. Over the holidays I worked about 30 hours a week, which was tough, but I loved that cash flow. I seriously bought a new game or two every single week in late October -- December. It was great. But once January rolled around, BOOM, hours were down to 4 or 5 a week. What the hell?! How can I pay my car/car insurance with that?! I couldn't, so I didn't. Thankfully my Daddy loves me and fronted me the cash to survive. Now I'm just... a gripload in the hole, but whatever, I can pay that back later. Anyway, I've got 17 hours this week! Not like a ton, but hell, that'll guarantee me a $200 or so check for two weeks of work, and that is going to help SO much for E3.
Second thing that's good is that at the team meeting, when we broke off in to departments for our small meetings, we played tight ass games of pictionary and charades, hehe. Like for what things were coming out and whatnot (oh yeah, I work at Best Buy, if you didn't know. Media Specialist, whoo whoo!). Then, when we went back to the full store meeting for our quarterly MVP awards and stuff, I won for my department! I mean, I'm a hell of a lot newer than everyone but one person in our department, who was hired the same day as me. I'm pretty happy with that, I wqas really surprised. I got a gift card for it, dunno how much it's for.
Hopefully I can use that to help me pay for my PlayStation Portable, if I happen to have the funds to purchase one. I mean, I really want one. I've been looking forward to it since day 1 and the rumors surrounding a FFVII sequel (which turned out to be a movie, omg wtf el log loelel), but you know, $250 is a big chunk of change when... that's pretty much all you have to your name, in checking and savings. Ouch.
With hours picking up, we'll see. I really wanted to get it at launch, to do launch coverage and shniznaws with Pat and Kev, but that's life. Maybe I can do that for the PS3 or Xbox 2... but by then I'll be a broke ass college kid, instead of a irresponsible high school senior with only one thing to really worrry about, a car -- which I happen to be sliding by with right now without my Dad knowing I indeed do have some money.
Well, that's my busy day so far. All this before 11 AM ! Two more weeks 'till spring break... yeah yeah!
