What's this? I'm enjoying Halo 2's single player!

Despite what seems to be the new bash of the week, I consider Halo 2's single player to be quite impressive. Through the nine to ten levels of the game that I have played so far I definitely consider it on par, if not better, than all of the other first person shooters I've played all year. Though Far Cry is definitely more technically impressive, through it's remarkable graphics engine, the action just isn't, well, as fun as Halo's!

I suppose that's a good thing. There's no reason I should want to not like it, which is what I feel some people seem to be doing. The single player campaign, including the story so far, is really cool. The action is great, the pacing is great, and the weapons are awesome. There's only one major problem so far; the cutscenes!

What the heck is wrong with the textures on the charaters and landscapes in the cutscenes? I swear to god the normal in-game set up looks better than the cutscenes, that almost never happens in any game. The textures pop up like a few miliseconds after they should, and trust me, it's noticeable. It's actually sort of strange, I don't get why it is.

Oh well, no big deal, considering how great the game is otherwise! I don't even need to get started on the multiplayer, which is maybe the best part of the game. Great maps, great setup, great action... that's all it needs and that's what it's got. Great stuff.

I love this game.
