The Cards 7950 & 7970 have dropped in price in the last couple of days to make way for the new 290/280 whatever they call the new range ;)

There are some real bargains to be had that make getting a second card a very real option.

I think they pitched the money too high on kickstart.

1 million a lot,and they pitched it at 1.25 million.

A millons hard to pull off.

They will be close to 250,000 short & that means no go.

With kickstarter it's a "all or nothing".

I was talking to a friend who works one of the big game publishers(I'm not going to say which,he has a wife and a morgage to pay)while staying round his house in the States.This was a while ago.

We got onto the outlook for gaming,we both found we had a love for gaming when we worked at Honeywell.

To be honest he layed all this out to me all thouse months ago.I thought he was bullsh*ting me.

Turns out he was SO right.The marginalization of the PC as a original platform and reining in of it in the market place.

The destruction of the "Communitys" that voice and create "problems" replace them with small handable groups that don't highlight shortcomings and effect sales.

The elimination of Free User made content so that Chargable Downloadable Content wll be more attractive,with no competion or standards to be held up against.

The streamlining of development by the wider adoption of Console ports,and the savings made by not developing a full adapted PC version.Take the console experience as a baseline(lowest common denomnated gaming experience,as he called it) and apply that to any roadmap in the development of any PC game.

Control OF any online game or franchise so that it can only be used throu Publisher owned inferstructure.This facilitates the maxium use of that "portal".Information and data is then used to proactively sell content to the said user on a personal basis while eleminating ANY possible use of external content(mods maps)not of CDC thou "Uncontrolable sources",IE Stand Alone Severs.

This is the equivalent George Orwells "1984" by Big Video gaming Publishers.AND ITS HERE..this game is its biggest vanguard!If we don't make some sort of stand by not buying it,this is the begining of the end.

SO whats the future of PC Gaming it this is deemed a success ?

Good points there.The only problem is that I can see is CM promoted the editor "Sandbox" concept in the run up to this game.This only got PC gamers fired up to make content for large MP games.I know alot of clans were posting on their Forums about this

CM went all the way of even putting "plays better on dedicated severs" on the back of the PC game box(look yourself),when they should have come clean and told everyone this was not on the cards.Hence the bad feeling.I'm not saying they're liars,I'm just saying that their marketing dept was a little "economical" with the truth when it suited them.

It reclines which is handy cause I fall asleep in mine when if I put it on the massage mode :lol:

Look face it.This IS a console game.Designed as,planed as,Built as.
Console games as a rule do NOT have Stand Alone Severs.

You play the game,you do it in a week single player(games designed for PC last a bit longer mostly)then it's co-op or small scale match up's.


I would like to be wrong but READ THE COMMENT ABOVE FROM Sion Lenton, executive producer for Dragon Rising.Why are the NOT EVEN WORKING ON Dedicated severs?Because the"road map" for this game and the code that went into it never had any provision for Stand Alone Severs or heavy SDK moding tools..
Nobody puts out a game without some sort of MP key system if they intended to develop that direction.They never intended it too.Their not stupid,thats as far as they want to go.

Now if you like the short term single player,have a friend to play multi then it all good.Even get the odd map,with maybe some Purchasable CM content ,alls good.

If you want to see severs with 20+ people playing,large quality user content you need a game PLANNED to have that .And thats mostly PC mindset,not a console one.A Mods/Skins scene that needs a platform that designed around day one SDKs and SADS to match.These games have months if not years as a life span and are designed long term commitment in mind.

IT IS not this game.

Thats all she wrote,console designs have the life span of a Gnat compared to PC games but thats the nature of the beast.Amd its a beast that PAYS.
So in closing enjoy it for the single player console BLAST that it is.
Just don't expect more.

Like I say..I HOPE TO BE WRONG.Nothing will give me more pleasure than to eat my words,but this game is not the next MP big thing because it never intended too.

ITs for the "Button Mashers"pick it up then if you want the single player "Console" experience.

My advice? Save your your money,pick it upon the cheap then if you feel the need to.
