BioShock
Untouchable atmosphere and a more-than-decent storyline back up this original and innovative hybrid shooter.
I'll keep this one pretty short: Good: Bioshock is the master of atmosphere, blowing literally every other game out of the water. The story is pretty decent, with a few very nice scenes, and the environment is top-not... Read Full Review

Mass Effect
A great story and environment set in an ubiquitously annoying interface and marred with a few too many errors.
Mass Effect is the first in a trilogy, and this is lucky, as otherwise it would feel completely underdone and would make me one sad reviewer. The game boasts many fine qualities, but also many rather silly and ponderousl... Read Full Review

Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare
While the campaign is short, the multiplayer is innovative and the overall experience is something quite epic.
Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare is something of a legend by now. When the series finally left the WWII battlefield, the series also evolved into something much better, more cinematic, and--mostly, more fun. The ingredi... Read Full Review

Ninja Gaiden Black
Little improvements go a long way and make this the best action game I've ever played--at least until NGII arrives!
This is one for the ages. Ninja Gaiden: Black is definitely one of the premier action titles of the newer generation of systems. There is not too much to say about this game, so I'll start: Everything works. Graphical... Read Full Review

Condemned 2
While the melee gameplay is fun, the story itself actually seems to lack, and it's not as scary as it's hyped up to be..
Condemned 2 is a pretty fun game--yes, much better than the original title. Yet it still has a bit too many flaws for me to consider it great or awesome. The story is weak mostly, and makes little sense from the get-go (... Read Full Review

Grand Theft Auto IV
Though GTA IV is certainly fun, it lacks all of the little things that made the previous entries to fun and long-lived.
"Though GTA IV is certainly fun, it lacks all of the little things that made the previous entries to fun and long-lived." ...and I'm not talking about airplanes. No, I'm talking about those little goals, those distrac... Read Full Review

Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords
Despite essentially being a clone of its predecessor, KOTOR II still satisfies fans of the original on most fronts.
KOTOR II takes familiar elements of the original game and amplifies them into a full-fleged sequel, full of new ideas and fresh looks at some of the things that the original did wrong, or didn't quite get right, while st... Read Full Review

Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic
A fun game built off of an invigorating system, with a great story and loads of replayability topping off the cake.
Knights of the Old Republic is just one of those games. You know, the ones you hear about whether you want to or not--one of those games you know you're going to get suckered into buying eventually, just because you know... Read Full Review

Halo 3
Good, but the new features are hardly flawless, and the campaign--while initially fun--is nothing to write home about.
Halo 3 was possibly the most hyped game ever. Halo: Combat Evolved took the world by storm, and with good reason, as the campaign and inventive multiplayer were enough to amuse many players for hours on end. There was an... Read Full Review

Assassin's Creed
While nice to look at, and fun for a short bit, the repetition this game boasts will not hold water with players.
Let me make one thing clear: the cityscapes in this game are pretty much worth the rent itself, and partially the reason my score is above the 5-territory. The city-visuals, when up on a building somewhere or looking out... Read Full Review
