The Dark Knight

This not a review. I can trust that you can make your own decisions.

This movie is, with out a doubt, one the BEST movies I have ever seen. Everything about this movie is perfect. This is what Heath (did I spell that correctly?) Ledger will be remembered for. Please, stop reading. If you have aleady seen this masterpiece. see it again. If not, see this movie as soon as possible. Words cannot fully explain this movie.

Comic books: American v.s. Manga

I love comic books. Also known as graphic novels. I like manga, but prefer American graphic novels. My favorite graphic novel series is The Sandman by Neil Gaiman. It follows the lives of various people and a set of non-living beings as the Endless. The Endless most closely followed is Dream(it has other names:the Sandman, Morpheus, King of Stories :D and many more). But some issues don't even mention the Sandman. The series is more about people than the Endless. The series sometimes gets deep. It requires some higher level thinking at times. It also jumbles (or clarifies, depends on how you look at it.) some popular myths.

Another series I really enjoyed was The Watchmen by Alan Moore. He also wrote the graphic novel League of Extraordinary Gentlemen. The Watchmen follows a group of super heroes as they try to learn the identity of a murderer. The adventure eventually unravels a greater objective that calls for a twisted way to form a utopia. The book includes multiple plot twists and after the main villain is finally revealed, the ending is an ending to end all comic book endings. There is a lot of symbolism and the movie is coming out March of 09.

Enough with the American stuff, time for the manga. I not really into manga or anime, but I will admit I did watch the stuff from the 90's (DBZ, Zoids, etc.). As for manga, ehhhhhh. I do not like Bleach, Naruto should just drop dead, and One Piece is too weird for my taste, I'm not into anime. As for manga, I tried looking at Negima, but I can't keep up. Highschool of the Dead is pretty cool. It's like Dead Rising set in Japan, with some high school kids and a school nurse, some other people, and it's free roaming. It's about a classic zombie outbreak. Very cool, very violent.

Other series starting soon: The Walking Dead, Preacher, Sin City, V for Vendetta, Y the Last Man, I am Legend, Wanted(completely different from the movie), 100 Bullets

An Intro

As a way of introducing myself to the Gamespot community, I figure I would take some time discussing what makes a good game, in my opinion.

1. Graphics: Although I consider graphics the least important part in a video game, but they have to be bearable. Seeing the same generic looking enemy five hundred times will definitely get on my nerves. Other than that, graphics don't really bother me that much.

2. Story: Although higher on the scale of importance than graphics, the stories in game don't really matter that much. As long as there is a plot twist here and there to keep me playing or there is some sort of logic towards the game flow. Still nothing extremely important.

3. Gameplay: The most important part of a video game, I think, is gameplay. How a game plays can make or break a game. I can forgive a game having stift controls and confusing/complex interfaces. But when I die in a game multiple times due to bad controls, off-screen deaths, or that stupid bottomless pit that always pops up at the most inconvient times, then whats the point of continuing? Sure get past that one part and do that happy dance but then have to go the same thing a few levels down the line. Then I don't think that game should take any more of you time that could be spent playing a good game.

So, that's what I think, now I'm going to play games.
