I never log in to post anything on GameSpot, but I have done so for this:

I really, really hate this new layout. And I kind of figured it would improve, but it hasn't, and it's time for my murmur of protest. I'm not saying "change it back, the old site was SO awesome," but there has to be something better than this.

The "Games" tab is counterintuitive. Why can't I select a page to see only system like before? That option is still sort of there, but it now take more time to navigate to, and it's not easy to find. When I do get to the page, it sends me straight to reviews? There are only two useful things immediately shown to me, which is ridiculous. Why is there a giant banner that takes up half the screen? Seriously. What's the difference between "Games" and "Reviews"? Why is "WII" the first option on the link bar on the left-hand side? What's the point of listing how many "games" and "reviews" there are at the top? No one cares about that. And the numbers aren't even true! There aren't 964 legitimate games for the 3DS.

I realize I'm picking on very specific things, but I have no idea how else to usefully complain about this. I used to love this site. Now it's such a pain to navigate that I have almost no interest in coming here.

People are really terrible sometimes. Instead of getting "Thank you for the tip!" or "Hey, that's a good find," you're getting criticized and mocked by the so-called "Pure gamers." I don't own SF4 (yet), but I will try this out whenever I get around to playing it.

Thank you, TC!

The only thing I have to add is that people's feelings for that The End battle are highly variable. I hated that battle with such a passion that I didn't even bother with it. I saved, set my PS a week ahead, then started up again when The End had died from exhaustion =P

From a concept point of view, I might still have it in my top 10. It was very creative... just not for me at that time in my life.

Definitely Uncharted. That game is fantastic. If you like Indiana Jones, Uncharted is the game for you. It's like being Indy.

Don't get me started on Valkyria Chronicles. It's not underrated. It's a solid game with solid gameplay, but it's story has some serious holes.

You're not alone, TC. I tried to get through the challenges with several different characters, but I couldn't get past 5/10. There's this strange "up and the left arrow" that I couldn't figure out before I had to turn the rental back in. The only thing I'm really disappointed at is how many of the trophies are devoted to those challenges.

I know that the trophies should mean something, so I guess there's nothing wrong with achallenge. That doesn't make it any less frustrating, though.

I've got three that come to mind automatically:

1) Final Fantasy VII (PS1)

2) Phoenix Wright trilogy (DS)

3) Ace Combat 5 (PS2)

I can see how a lot of people would be skeptical about trying games that are outside the genre that they'e used to playing... but I can't recommend Phoenix Wright (adventure) or Ace Combat 5 (flight sim) enough. If you want great stories, those are games to play.

You don't have to buy a new one.  My PS2 has done that practically since I bought it.  It just doesn't read some discs very well.  I then do one of two things: wait for it to accept the disc (which it will eventually do most of the time), or give up and decide to watch something else.  It's a bummer, I realize, but you don't have to buy a new one.  Frankly, I can't believe all the people that automatically did that without trying a little harder to figure out whether it's a legitimate problem or not.
