I went into the options/Graphics section and turned off the film grain and motion blur settings and the framerate seems to improve. Maybe it's just my imagination though... it's still an amazing game either way.
I would recommend that you stick by the wall near where the tank is and snipe at enemies that approach the tank's right side. Most of the enemies that spawn hop the fence and head this direction. Hope this helps, it worked well for me on Veteran difficulty.
I hope it is at least 20 solid hours the first time through for the basic story and at least a third of the sidequests. I have been looking around and it seems that the 10 to 20 hour playthroughs are mostly grind sessions while at the same time the 25+ hours playtime seem to occur when the player takes his or her time (and this is just for the basic story and at least a third of the sidequests). I guess it depends on how aggressively you play the game and of course, all we have to go on right now a a few reviews and the word of mouth from the few who have gotten it early. These playtimes seem like polar opposites so I guess the best thing to do is wait and see.
