Neverwinter Nights 2, oh my goodness. This is it.
I made a Lawful Evil Half Orc Dual Katana Weilding Half Orc named Ignorant Swan. No idea why but he is pretty effective at trouncing bad guys, notreally good for much else though, can't sneak so well. In this game though you get no exp for doing thiefy things though so it sorta takes the fun outta being a rogue.

What is everyones issue with loading times?

Okay people lets have a look at how games actually work. Way back when we had games on the Nintendo and Super Nintendo and other similar "cartridge" based systems, we had no loading time. The reason is that the game is directly connected to the hardware of the system by a port, like any peripheral on a computer is. As technology of videogames became more advanced we found that we can store more information on a CD than we can in a cartridge, so the boom for this new technology came along. Now we put our highly anticipated new game CD or DVD in the system, turn it on and we are confronted with......a loading screen. People have been flipping out about this loading screen ever since, even now most games that are reviewed the load times are considered strongly when deciding whether the game is worth while or not. Guess what people? If you want the advanced storage space of those DVD's and CD's you have to deal with loading time. Heres why, the game is NOT (PC's being the notable exception here) hooked directly to the hardware, the media (I.E. the CD) as with any media of this sort must be "read" by the hardware and then translated into your game. Thus any game you play on these systems is going to have a loading time to it. Now you may say well what about Tony Hawk, he had a game with no loading time? I say, your an idiot for believing the jargon, because it does have loading times, what do you think its doing when your on the train? Oh yes now you see what I mean, they didn't do away with loading times they simply disguised it as a something else and didn't tell you (through the game interface) that it was loading. Anyone who knows how computers operate can tell you that they can also multi task things really well. So running a small routine where the character is not likely to do much, for example where you are constrained by a subway car, is a perfect disguise for the system to load the next area.
So what the point your asking yourself. My point is, I don't care about how long it takes to load, I am happy when it does. Why are people so impatient anymore? I can understand if something were to take hours or even 20 minutes to load but 5 minutes or less really is not that long. So quit complaining about the load times and deal with it knowing you have technilogical superiority over the non load time games.

Well now, i didn't know we also had blogs not that I know anyone here anyway. No ones fault but my own so don't take that the wrong way :)
Currently my girlfriend and i are playing Final Fantasy 11 on the computer. We are inthe Titan server and my name is the same here as there except of course with no spaces. Its a pretty fun game with pleanty to keep you busy for a long while. It also has a strong detachment from other MMO's in that you can change your class., stack classes (quest at level 18), unlock advanced classes (at level 30). The thing is most games of this sort force you to be one class or another and then bombard you with abilities or skills for variance. Well this game not only allows you to change your class but as stated above you can actually stack a second class at half your current classes level, gaining everything but the equipment options for the second class. :D
Well i have some homework to get to so you all have some fun and try it out if you wanna go for something different.
