[QUOTE="BPoole96"]Logitech makes other great products, just not speakers :PSonOfChewbacca

Logitech Z-5500 says hi :)

I've had the logitech z-680 and the z-5500 before. They're "ok", the z-680 was superior to the z-5500s in sound, as the sub had a far better response rate, the z-5500s sound like crap at low volumes as the sub has trouble contributing to the mids and lows. The z-5500s are for loud bass enthusiests. I prefered the z-680s but neither would I consider to be great sounding.

I love bass but it has to be well blended. I look back at my teenage years and laugh to think that having 4x12" subs goin in yur vehicle at volumes that make your eyes blur was good sound

Sound is personal preference, but there is a diffeerence if you like SQ (sound quality) and spl (sound pressure level)

I loved bulletstorm, but still to this day drives me nuts that voices sound like a low quality mp3, as you can clearoy hear the sound compression distortion...

[QUOTE="Krazyskitzy"] still fail to understand why xbox never allows use of dts interactive or stereo pcm (blazblue is only in stereo, and sounds far superior on the ps3)

NVIDIATI

When it comes to audio, the 360 is rather an oddball.

dolby or nothing is their motto

Only time I find my ps3 to fall a little "flat" in the sound department is when the ps3 takes a dolby or dts track and processes it and spits it out as pcm. PCM only really shines when there is an actual uncompressed track available. Try it yourself, watch a one of your fav movie seens on bitstream and then pcm. PCM just ends up sounding flat, and just "missing something". Most amps know how how dd an dts should be processed for itself to sound best, amps usually implement their own enchancements and processing techniques to the sound. Most amps when they receive a pcm stream will not touch the stream, some modern ones will allows some tweaking and processing but older ones won't even let you adjust the even the most minor settings.

I still fail to understand why xbox never allows use of dts interactive or stereo pcm (blazblue is only in stereo, and sounds far superior on the ps3)

When you start pumpong good $$$ into a srs system, sound becomes very important, and when you own very good speakers the sound quality of a game really comes through, for example though, I loved bullet storm, but noticed most of the music and voice tracks sound very compressed on both consoles imo. But try bf3 on both consoles and it sounds pretty dam good on both, but seems to pack a little bit mre "punch" on the ps3 even though it only runs on dd on both consoles.

to explain what mean about the difference a sound system can do to highlight good sound or not is kinda like listening to satellite radio on a $50 boombox (sounds like music though matter how you listen to it) vs listening to satellite radio on a high end pair of headphones (scratchy booomy mess called "music")

All these console graphic wars and what not, what ever happened to game sound quality comparisons, that to me should be an essential part when comparing a ps3 vs xbox game. In all honestly a ps3 would probably win cause most of its games have many sound options, like dts, dd, and lpcm. (dont get me wrong though, if a game supports dts or lpcm doesnt make it better if a develpoer isn't utilizing it to the fullest)

What are your guys opinions on this???

I stopped enjoying zelda after snes, I can see why ppl liked the n64 ones, but to me all of the newer ones are just rehashes with some little changes an gimmicks to make them seem different... Zelda has major "Haloitis" (large follow cause of the name).. If you changed the names in every zelda game an caled it "The Legend of Xelda" people would propbly ignore it and i would get the mediocre reviews it deserves... just my opinion

I'll never understand the fanboys that worship halo an zelda games, and refuse to see how mediocre they are. To call halo revolutionary is like saying adding a few more guns to a new call of duty game is "groundbreaking".... Zelda in the 3d world just hasn't worked for me personally, and I've played them just to see if I can recapture what I loved about the series, but each game that gets released just shows me that there are alot of nylon wallets full of allowance to be taken, who like life on the straight an narrow.

I too like what I like, I loved Devil may cry 1 & 3, but when 4 came out, it was good, but it was dmc3 with a facelift an a few tweaks, which is ok, but if they decided to do that with dmc I prolly would invest an hour before I would move on.. (lets not talk about that abomination "DMC")

woulda been cool, and possible, just redo it with the original elder scrolls engine, if you think bout it, fa3 was pretty much a full fledged mod for oblivion.

I think it would still be neat to see a fallout game modded onto an old elder scrolls engine, port it to smartphones or homebrew for modded orignal xboxes

there's no real benefit to hdmi on the xbox unless you have plans to use the abandoned hd-dvd drive. other than that most modern tvs accept 1080p through component, but pointless even more considering majority of games are only rendered in 720p and below.

they really didn't utillize the hdmi port on the xbox, can't even get PCM 5.1/7.1 through it, just dolby an dts. I've tried both on my sony 60' 1080p tv and there's no difference in picture quality.

Those adaptors to gibe yur xbox hdmi, does nothing more than what your tv already does. scales it, and does a analogue to digital conversion, which your tv will always do better, since your tv knows what scaling methods is best for itself
