You know.. I always say "cool school", you know, because it rhymes! But that feeling of school being cool only last at about a week or so... then I say "school is not cool"
However, I am moving up up up in the world and I am no longer in the highschool biz, and perhaps my whole perspective on school may change.
I just finished my first week at a college (hoorah for 4 day weekends--off on mondays and fridays!!!) and I must say... school may perhaps be cool for me for quite a while.
Well, except for the fact that it costs me a whole lot of money:
1. $100 Art book
2. $135 art kit
3. $100-200 35mm film camera
4. random art supplies.
And that is just for one semester! Well, I didn't count the actual tuition... and I know that I am actually fortunate than most people in terms of suppply costs. But still... it sucks being a poor artist-to-be.
Well, other than that, school actually has been cool! Partly because I don't have to do math, and I get to do art related stuff all day! I call my profs with their first names, I already made friends, the classes are small, and the campus isn't that confusing (I'm teribble at directions).
well, that's is with my schoolz rant. I haven't really gotten any playing done since classes start at 8 am (which means i gotta get up at 5:30am) and the time I have at home I spend sleeping...

hello!

Hi my name is Krystle but my user name is Krystoast (as most of you can read).
I have decided to re-introduce myself because of my super long absence. There were quite a few factors to that:
- watching AVATAR (man, aang is amazing ^_^)
- watching animes (NANA, Honey and Clover, Ouran's host club... etc.)
- buying games like crazy to the point of hitting my limit on my credit card! (don't worry, I didn't actually do that)
^ - I did that because I got a DS, and I had to get a bunch of new games for it, plus a couple of PS2 games came out (like Dirge of Cerberus, and Xenosaga 3)
- playing Guitar Hero like a madwoman. (because I saw this video in youtube of a guy beating this ridiculously hard game on expert mode--and for those who has played guitar hero, would know excatly how hard expert mode it) So i decided to practice at least once a day if I can.
- went to the Family Values tour. (I only went because it had the *** band Dir En Grey in it)
- and the usual work.
So uhh, yes, I am glad to be a part of Gamespot and I will contribute whatever I can to the community and I hope to be a regular member soon.

Anywhoo, I have been in hiding-- seclusiony, hermity, amishy, or hibernationy from Gamespot. Well, I guess I really shouldn't say amishy, since I have been in front of my tv for a loooong time during my absence because of a certain arrival of a certain game!!!
If anyone remembers (to those who actually reads my blogy--thanks by the way ^_^) that I had a goal of owning and playing the Digital Devil series.
For about 3 weeks now that I have owned DDS2, DDS1 has finally arrived and I can now finally play it till I drop. And that is exactly what I did.
I must say, this game has hooked me in a way that Nocturne didn't, and I can't really explain what it is that did since I barely scratched Nocturne.
The only real complaint that I have with my DDS1, is to the person that I bought it from. I have learned a lesson:
1. never pay $20 shipping when it only cost about $3.25 expecting it to come earlier since having payed so much for it
or
2. never buy from a seller named eternal_sorrow (i hope I am not breaking any rules here by posting that ^_^)
or
3. tell the seller ahead of time about the condition I want my package to arrive in (because apparently, it is not obvious enough that I want them in the condition that he says they are supposed to be in)
or
4. (now this one is a bit extreme) never buy anything from ebay again.
I probably won't be doing #4 but I now take extra precautions when purchasing from ebay.
Well, enough of my rant there... the most important thing, I guess, is that I love the game right now, and I am not really the kind of person that dwells on problems, or money lost.
so, uh, see you later gamespot!! (when my ADD-ness kicks in and I lose interest in the game ^_^)

I miss Working Designs
by Krystoast on Comments

I only became their fan because of the great Lunar series, Arc the Lad, Alundra, and Vanguard Bandits and from what I experienced from these games were extremely memorable ((i'm not a big fan of mechs but I founds Vanguard Bandits insanely fun and played through it at least 4 times to get the different endings)
I miss the things they include in their special editions (soundtracks, hardcover manuals, artwork) and I miss the effort they put into localizing games that we North American gamers would never normally get the chance to experience.
Now, the reason I bring them back to life in my heart is because I finally got a hold of a copy of Growlanser Generations, and it has taken my life over. I have spent about 30 hours in the span of 2 days of my life playing the 2 complete strategy/rpg that is included in this game.
I simply love the simplicity of the games and the sheer fun factor regardless of how "primitive" the graphics are now compared to the more recent games. But the amazing thing is, this game is not driven by its looks but by it's interesting story with branching plotlines, different endings and a personality based game. Lately I have been a person that cannot stand a game if it is not in FFX standard in terms of graphics so imagine how good this game must be for me to play for so long without getting a headache :D
This game greatly reminds me of what Working Designs can do if they put enough time to it (and trust me, they take alot of time) such as the over 10 hours of recorded voice overs and near perfect localization.
It makes me sad that they are gone...
My new goal.
by Krystoast on Comments
My new goal is to own Digital Devil Saga, and digital devil saga 2.
Now, I see digital devil saga 2 everywhere (for a whopping price of 59.99) I cannot seem to find the 1st one anywhere...
so, therefore, I am going to hit ebay and buy it there...
victory shall be mine!!!!
UPDATE:
I now techinically own BOTH DDS1 and DDS2. I am now just waiting for arrival on the mail!
I can't wait will my present for my self arrive!! YAYS!
UPDATE (part deux)
DDS2 arrived in the mail today after just 2 business days! That's pretty amazing! Unfortunetely, I can't start playing it yet because DDS1 hasn't arrived yet... but of course, I cheated and tried playing it, hoping that it won't reveal too many spoilers...

Okay, first things first: WHY DID I LOSE ONE OF MY GS BADGES??? I am a PS2 facionado!! Maybe they raised their standards? Maybe they found out that you have to have passed your ps2 games for them to count (in that case, that means i only own like... 10 ^_^)
whaaaaaaaaa!!!
---must-buy-more-games-----
anywhoooooo....
playing- steambot chronicles , radiata stories
watching - samurai champloo
reading - wake up sir! by Jonathan Ames
listening - crickets... =_=
life, is dandy. My mom is making me read a driver book so that i can take a test and finally get my license... I don't really want to since the chances of me ever driving a car is me liking a wrestling game or even just watching it. But alas, not only am I being made to take it, but I also have to pay for it... no fair.
as for games, I think I'm starting to get out of Steambot Chronicles and is now trying to finish Radiata stories, and ignoring the fact that for some reason, it won't let me recruit all the characters that i can. Then maybe I'll pick up my Suikoden 5 again since i stopped playing it 3 days after i got it. Then, steal my Kingdom hearts 2 back from my friend and play it (since i haven't really started)
--wow... I have a lot to do, don't i? But who am i kidding, I'm only going to do one of those, and that does not include studying for my driver license test.... ^_^

I might've become a "NARUtard"
by Krystoast on Comments
Oh noes!!!! :o I have now seen 175 episodes of the anime show called Naruto and I am almost ashamed! Well, not really suuuper ashamed, but pretty ashamed since I said before that it wasn't a very good show. But fine, I admit defeat and will now like the show.
since then, i've owned a rock lee plushie and has played the naruto fightning game (clash of ninja or something like that).
anywhoo... yeah, i love rock lee, my favourite character!

so ENOUGH about naruto....
GAMES:
since i finally passed my first game in well..... a year (I PASSED GRANDIA 3 AS PROMISED!) i have passed another one right after it.
I had a sort of war game phase that i think im starting to come out of. But when i was still in my phase, i decided to play call of duty 2: big red one for the ps2 and wow, did i ever like it. so much so that i passed it in 3 days! i also played a few levels of call of duty on the 360 (a much better game on the 360) and i enjoyed that too.
however, my new goal now is to play and pass suikoden 5 before kingdom hearts come out! I am super excited than i was before because a copy is waiting for me at my work because i preordered it there!! hee hee hee hheheheheheeeeeeee!

OMG IT'S BEEN A WHILE!!!
yes. i have counted... that within my 54 games... i have only passed 16 of it...
i know i know.... SHAME ON ME!
therefore, to solve that little problem, I have made my immediate goal to passing grandia 3. I mean... how hard can it be right? I am going to buckle down, and not get distracted, or even get a new game until i pass grandia 3! Because, i should've learned my lesson by now.
I knew all along that I have not passed many of the games i own, but the thing that made me really realize it is when i have been called a "collector" and not a "gamer" WHAT BLASPHEMY!
I WILL PROVE TO ALL THAT I AM A GAMER AND SHALL PASS GRANDIA 3!!!!!

MWAHAHAHAHAHHHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!
(btw, I'm not crazy)

why i love my ps2
by Krystoast on Comments
I've always been a lover of all thigs imaginary.... (yes, even my imaginary friensd... oh i love you all, especially you Violet!! :))
And the reason why I oh so love my PS2 is becayse it loves me. Never has it failed to play for me a game, and it filters out all the crappy games that I happen to have been stupid enough to rent.
My ps2 has supported me for over 4 years, and even though i have purchased 2 new systems after it (a gcube and an xbox) it has been patient and waited for me to return. And return is exactly what i did. There was no way i could stay away from my Ps2 for too long because no matter what people say, nothing compares to the Ps2.
The PS2 not only entertains me, but it also fuels my imagination and it gives me inspiration to create, paint, and write. It teaches you, in their optimistic world, that as long as you put yout mind to it and spend enough time on it, you can accomplish anything. It has also taught me, through the games i played in the system, many moral, and it has given me life experiences.
Finally, I love my Ps2 because it enable me to meet new friends and create new relationships and it helped me find what it is i love to do the most and find a life that i can play my ps2 in. Don't think that it's a sad and pathetic life because it is a life that is full of memories with people (not in games, but in real life) and many heartfelt conversations while a game music was in the background.
so, ps2, even though the playstation 3 is coming out soon and it will come to be in my possession, know that every little bit of you is what makes the ps3 and it will enchance you and make you better, and know that i will always remember the times spent with you and i will take care of my ps3 and love it as much as i love and will always love you.

semester may be over but not the INTERVIEWS!!!
by Krystoast on Comments
OH NOES!
okay, even though the semester is over for me = no more school, i still have portfolio interviews to worry about....
i mean, everyone knows i'm no good, so what's the point? Right now, I'm just doing this so my parents won't be too ashamed off me when they talk about me with my relatives and find out that their daughter is a failure. Really, i have a very good incentive to do well.
anyways... it'll be fun. and if i do get accepted to an art school, i'll have a sense of acomplishment and when that20th anniversary comes around where i get to meet my old highschool friends, i'll hopefully have a respectable/super fun job that i can be proud of and will not have to hide whenever i see that annoying person that thiks that they are mighty and all.
okay, i shall stop rambling.... but seriously... my down time will not really start until the end of feburary! CURSE YOU FEBRUARY!!!
