Portal review + other crap

I know I said that I would review something new next. Well, life doesn't always go the way you like it. So I reviewed Portal and I might be reviewing Half Life 2 Episodes next, once I actually get enough energy to play them. Although I just have to complete Half Life 2 first. Sigh. That might take awhile, since it doesn't really interest me anymore. So I might review something new next, but don't take my word for it.

In other news, we just returned from our 2 day school trip. By that I mean our student cruise from Turku to Stockholm. It was a nice change to the common bars that we usually go to relax and unwind. I was surprised by the tolerance of the ship's crewmembers, because there was always someone passed out in the hallways or yelling in the restaurant area, and they hardly even cared. I guess they are quite used to students doing those things. The return trip was more or less just sleeping, or at least trying to sleep, since there were always few energetic duracell bunnies jumping around, singing or just tossing their beer cans everywhere. Viva la Finland. And taxfree drinks.

The Darkness review

I just finished up my review of The Darkness. I managed to avoid sounding like a raving fanboy, but I didn't have much fun writing the review either. Maybe I was trying too hard or maybe I can only have fun when I'm giving something a bad review. I dunno.

In any case, I played the game through again and noticed that I have pretty much played this game to the max. It didn't give me much satisfaction anymore, since I have pretty much found all the secrets and I have learned that storyline by heart that there just isn't anything to play it for anymore. The gameplay itself can't keep me playing it. So it returns to my shelf to herd the dustballs.

I mentioned in my review that this game's soundtrack is awesome and it truly is, but I have found one serious problem with it. There is no OST. I have been looking high and low, but there just isn't any place with music tracks from this game. Oh sure you can view wikipedia and it list song that appear in this game and you can then download those song from any torrent site, but those are not the ones im after. Those are the song that appear in the game's TV (at least I think so). What I'm after are the music from the game itself, like Jenny's Theme and such. I have found 3 of them from Gametrailers.com, none of which are downloadable. So if anyone knows where to find those, leave a comment or PM me.

I have been anxiously waiting news about the sequel, but nothing other rumors are available. If the sequel ever comes out, I hope it has somewhat better gameplay. I don't mind it being easy, as long as it's fun.

I don't know what I'll review next, as the school takes most of my time. Most likely I'll review something new next, propably Fracture or Legendary. Which ever I come across next. Im more eager to play Fracture though, since it seems to be the new "Red Faction" of PS3 (I know that a new Red Fraction is coming to PS3, but after Red Faction 2 I have lost my hope to the series).

On the meantime, I'll most likely write about school. If there is something to write about. Laterz.

Oblivion review

Okay, I just finished my review of Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion. For this review I decided to try a different approach. I went and tried Gamespot's idea to write it down to Notepad before posting it. As a result, well... It kinda got out of hand. I did enjoy writing that, but most likely I wont be using that method again. Just for the sake of viewers. Im glad if at least one manages to actually read that instead of running away from the sheer size of it.

In other news, I took a look at my first PS3 review, The Darkness and noticed that it... well, sucks. So im planning on playing that game through again and writing a new review of that, without the fanboy raving. If I manage to get enough time to actually play it, since this week im pretty busy with school.

Peace out.

Back to school

As none of you might know, I started my College studies in January. It was an odd time to start, since most studies start in the autumn. I was however so bored at home that I had to find something sensible to do rather than leeching the unemployment office for money to buy games.

So here I am, sitting in the classroom in huge crowd of fellow students. By that, I mean the 4 other people besides me. All men, damn. Being in a such small class has its good sides and bad sides. The good sides are that the level of education you get is excellent. Teachers can focus on all students very well. Also, befriending the others happens literally in an hour. The bad sides are that you really cant call in a sick day if you are too lazy to wake up in the morning, since your absence is 20% of the entire class. Also, sleeping during a lecture is not very easy.

My studies focus on computing and data processing. In 4 years I'll (hopefully) be an Engineer in Information and Communications Technology. So far so good, as I've had a decent success. What is nice in this place is that students in the nursing school also study in the same place. Nice views.

It's been 8 months since I started. Summer went by fast playing GTA4, MGS4 and Condemned 2 (I've been looking for a copy of that game for so long and I finally found one. In a discount price, yay). I didn't play them alone for the entire summer though, they didn't have that much replay value in my opinion. No, I returned to the always faithful and always brutal Ninja Gaiden Sigma. And I survived that without resorting to real life violence (damn I'm good).

Now the sirens of College call to me once again and I'm powerless to resist. Like a zombie, I slouch to my new home for the next 4 months again. Adjusting to the early morning wake ups again makes me feel like im sleepwalking. I meet up with my classmates and find out that 2 of them have bailed out. Oh buggers. We who remain, vow to stay, until death. And then we go for a few drinks in the local bars and skip the morning classes the next day. So far so good.

1st week behind now since I returned. Updates will follow.
